HOME FOR THE
DECEMBER 13-14, 2002
Yo, yo, yo...and ho, ho, ho! What up everyone? I'm coming to you at home where I now reside thanks to the fact that the Fall 2002 semester of college is over. It's a wonderful feeling. It is good to be home...back to my normal, boring, lonesome life. Well, that's how it is anyway...lol. No, really. It is good to be home for now. I definitely have to get away from that school for a while. The institution gets on my nerves. Friday was a pretty good day. Besides coming home, I also got a free gift...and there was a present I ordered waiting for me at home. I shall elaborate on those things shortly. All in all, it's nice to start this holiday vacation.
Being home so far has been typical with a few slight twists which I will explain shortly. In the wee hours of Friday morning, I did my last minute packing. For some reason, I didn't have much motivation to pack up my stuff early. You would think that with me being anxious to end this semester and leave, I would have at least prepared myself in some sort of way. I just didn't feel like it this time though. Recently, I've just been having this "I don't care"...or more appropriately, "I don't give a damn"...attitude. I've spent hours doing that making sure that I would be finished by 8:00, which was the intended time for my mom to arrive here. Thanks to her never being on time, she arrived two hours late. It's not all her fault though. Morning traffic and bad weather are to blame as well. My mom came to pick me up in a rental car. It's her recent tradition. She believes that her original car, while capable, would not be able to lug me and my belongings back. We packed up, and I left out of school on Friday at around noon. When we finally got on the highway, I went to sleep. I'd suffered staying awake for a full day with some extra hours. This was only my second time doing that. I did that one other time when I was trying to finish an art project earlier this week. Staying up for 24 hours was an interesting experience. Anyway, yeah...I was asleep in the car, but I woke up periodically. My mom was bumpin' some old school songs that I could not handle. Some stuff like "Just My Imagination" by the Temptations and "A Heart is a House for Love" by The Dells are good, but then she has some stupid songs like..."Cowboys to Girls" and some "Gypsy Woman" mess. She bumped that stuff all the way home. She was singing that mess sometimes too. My mom was not right for that at all...lol.
We finally got back in Memphis at around 4:00pm, and I had to go to the Credit Union to get some checks cashed. Then, we finally went home. I had to unpack my stuff out of the car, and then my mom had to return the car. Therefore, I had to drive her car and follow her to the rental car place. Then, I guess I volunteered to drive both of us back home. My mom really wanted to make it home to watch "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." We made it home at almost 7:10 pm (more or less). When we got home, she went to watch that classic and I went to watch something that I've wanted to watch for a long time. This is one set of my early presents. I ordered it back in November and it came to the house a week ago. It's a set of two Wimzie's House VHS tapes. My main reason for getting these videos is to celebrate the holiday season Wimzie style with the video "Wimzie's House: Happy Holidays" containing two episodes. I was only going to get that video, but I decided to get two. The second tape I got is Wimzie's House: Pet Tales. I watched the first video, and it was great. The first episode was never before shown on TV..."Wimzie's Perfect Christmas." It was a very great episode. I was all happy while watching it. Seeing Wimzie and the gang celebrating Christmas the way it should was a treat. The other one was shown on TV before...the episode entitled "We Want Toys." It was nice to see that episode again, even though I already recorded when it was on TV, hehe. It's funny how Wimzie obsesses over a toy called...a Binga-Boinga. So, that was a good 50 minutes of quality viewing on Friday night. I haven't viewed the second video yet, but I will soon. Since then, I've been pretty much chillin' at the crib as I should.
Oh yes...now to my other present that I am so proud to have for many reasons. I got this at sometime after 9:00am on Friday morning. This present is a free music CD with some great stuff on it. This CD is...*drum roll*..."Christmas With The B.U.N.K.S." from One Mic Studios! This CD is a stellar collection of holiday tracks and skits. Familiar Christmas songs have been given new twists, and original compositions are here adding to the freshness. I'm really lovin' this CD. First off, it was free. Second, the songs on here are mad tight. So, I was instantly hooked to this CD. It's been already put in heavy rotation in portable, car, stereo CD players. I played it on my portable player while I was still at college waiting on my mother to get me, and I played it to drown out her old songs on the way home...lol. I played it in the car while going to the rental car place. Finally, I played it on the stereo while chillin at home. Simply put, "Christmas With The B.U.N.K.S." sounds great anywhere! With that said, I have to give a special shout out to the two incredibly talented individuals who were responsible for the making of this Christmas album. To the crazy and dynamic duo of Smo Logic and Gromatic, I definitely want to thank you two for making this CD and hookin me up with it. As always, you have definitely impressed me with your skills. Now, I have something else to add to my annual Christmas traditions. I highly appreciate the work and fun that was put into the CD. Thanks again, and much love to you Smo and Gro!
Well, I guess I'm about to close this out. I need to finally put up Christmas lights for the house. I was supposed to do it after Thanksgiving, but I forgot. Now my mom is begging me to do it. I guess I should go for it. I don't know when, though...haha. Also, I plan on watching my second Wimzie's House video and listening to "Christmas With The B.U.N.K.S." once more. So, the remainder of today (more appropriately tonight) should be pretty nice. This reflective moment is now coming to a close. Take care, everyone. Peace.
