THE RAINFALL

JULY 12, 2002

The rain falls

Falling so surely

As the puffy dark clouds in the sky

Release the abundance of showering

The universal destinations becomes drenched

From pavement to greenery, buildings to flowering

The rain falls

Surely and freely

The precipitation appears as a force

A force of commencing a downpour

Every object must be content with its dampness

A compelled acceptance from the top to the floor

Rainfall

A dynamic activity

Through my eyes, it is a visual treat

Within each drop, there shows a luster

With admiration of the gloomy scenery

Many thoughts and feelings can muster

Why do I like the rain?

In words, could I really explain?

The clouds in the sky are dim and mysterious

For many, the appearance can be quite serious

Yet for me, the emergence of rain can be quite fun

It is a nice change of pace for the ever-showing sun

Of course, the rain can have its solemn connotation

While rains dismal aspects offer no explanation

Whenever Im unhappy, the rain can erase my frown

Or the rain can further solidify my feeling of being down

The rain falls

Falling everywhere

The descending water soaks all in its way

Making all things immersed from far and near

Gazing closely as the precipitation lowers

A raindrop can be reminiscent of when I shed a tear

Rainfall

Winds blowing

Clapping thunder

Flashing lightning

All things accompanying this weather

Stirring up all emotions and ideas whenever

They can be separated or clashing together

No other kind of weather can evoke this better

Whenever the slackening of the rain begins

There is the realization that it must come to an end

Another rainy day can occur sooner or much later

Not knowing if the true impact could become greater

It doesnt matter what is the case

This kind of weather brings something to my face

Ironic smiles or associated frowns, who knows?

No matter what, let it all come down as fast as it goes

As long as Im around to witness it all

The rain falls

The rain falls

Just allow the rain to fall

ADDITIONAL COMMENTARY:

This poem basically sums up my fascination of the rain. I don't really know why I like rainy weather. I just do. I like visual aspects of it at the very least. Hearing the rain (and sometimes the thunder) is also a great thing to me. Sometimes, I like to stand outside in the rain, walk around in the rain, or at least just look at it through my window. At times, it can become at bit bothersome when it comes to flodding and hysterical weather, but as a whole rain is highly enjoyable to me. If I couldn't get rain, I could at least enjoy the dark clouds in the sky. That would even be enough to satisfy me. Still, I do not know for sure what really draws me to rain. I explained what I liked about it, but the reasons are unclear.
