Once again eating played heavily into our enjoyment of the trip. Here's my partner-in-crime Fr. Stephen, vocation-discerning student Kelly Tyler, and Austinite astronomy friend Lara Eakins. The mad photographer Bill is, in fact, photographing us. |

Once again they moved ancient monuments. Lara and da padre try to figure it out. Kelly simply sighs, "Oh my goodness..." I'm leaning against something off camera to ease the pain in my severely sprained ankle. "No, I'm SURE it's just a little farther," says the man in black. |

We actually rented a car and managed to survive a harrowing trip to Pompeii. Here is the view down an eerily well-preserved Pompeiian street, with what's left of Mt. Vesuvius in the background. You'd think that the residents of Pompeii would have snapped to the fact that their entire city was built of LAVA ROCKS!! |
