Starting with March 3, 2008 I was already sick with bronchitis, which I just thought was a very

bad cold.   I boarded my flight on U S Airways Flight 19 headed to Las Vegas, Nevada from

Columbus, Ohio, my home town.  Three and a half hours later I'm in the Las Vegas Airport.

It's a big airport, way bigger than Port Columbus, it even looked like a casino!  I got a

phone call from my friend Matt who was picking me up at the airport in Las Vegas asked where

I was, I told him to look for me in a wheelchair.  Because I was sick and weak.  So he finds me

and we go looking for my red bag on the luggage carousel.  So we find it and he wheels me to his

car out in the parking garage and we drive almost 3 hours to his home outside of Pioche Nevada.

About 24 hours later I'm being woke up and taken to the local Hospital Emergency Room in

Caliente, Nevada.  My condition turned from bad to deadly bad.  After being throughly checked

out by attending nurses and doctor,  The doctor told Matt to start looking through my cell phone

to make phone calls to family and friends that I was on my death bed and things could go bad

soon!  So he called my friend Chad, who just happens to be my Pastor also, Matt told him to

please call people to pray for me and my condition for I was knocking on death's door!  Chad told

Matt not to call my Mom yet because he believed God would intervene.  He didn't want for her to

worry so much for she is almost 84 years old.  So they waited till things went better and then I

called her on my 2nd day in the hospital.   I want to tell you I never felt God's presence so close

than when I was in that hospital room for 5 days.  The LORD himself had to have been there I

tell you!

The following week after I was in the hospital, I was at Matt's house trying to regain my strength.

I was doing a little bit better but not as good as I would have liked.  Finally after being in the

house all closed up I decided to get my coat on and go out for a short little walk.  So I walked

down their driveway which happens to be about a of a mile long.  While I was outside I started

to talk to God and thank Him for bringing me out to Nevada.  It was so peaceful there.  Not many

people, hardly any traffic, or traffic noises, no siren noises, no traffic lights, or even a stop sign to

be found in the county.  You just got to just love it!  All I had was Nevada High Country Desert and God

the creator with me!  So I spoke to God just as though He was there in my presence.  Which He was

most assuredly! I talked to Him for at least a half an hour just standing in an alfalfa field out front

of the house!  Life there was very laid back and slow at best.  They called it living on Pioche Time!

Well I'm now home in Columbus  Ohio living back in the Rat Race, and you know all I can think

about is going back to Nevada!

Pioche Time is time well spent with God!

By the way, do you know Jesus as your LORD and Savior?

You too can know the Love of God in a very personal way!

God Bless you all!  Jim Ellis Columbus, OH, USA
