The Write-Up

Technology was having an outbreak in the 1970's. The first home computer was invented in 1975 by Altair, which you had to build yourself. Soon enough, improvements on the computer were being made. The microprocessor, the foundation of all computers, was invented in 1971 by Intel and a year before that, the floppy disk was invented. Apple Computer Inc was formed by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in 1976, the bicentennial year of the Declaration of Independence.

In the same year that Apple Computer Inc. was created, so was the first Cray supercomputer. A year later, the Apple Computer II was made. In 1979, the 64k-bit silicon memory chip was invented by ICM. Computerized supermarket checkouts were also invented during this decade, in '75.

Computers-related inventions weren't the only ones made during the 1970's. The pocket calculator made its appearance in 1974 while a year before the color photocopier has already been shown in 1973. Ink-jet printers came along in 1976 along with call waiting and Betaman and VHS systems for video cassette recording.

In the same year that the Apple II computer made its debut, so did magnetic resonaco imaging (MRI). One year later, the ultrasound was first used. The Sony Walkman made its introduction in 1979.
