What's With Perspective?
Retun to Tutorials: Perspective menu
Perspective is what gives depth to everything in the world, even if it's occuring right now, or a single moment of it is captured in a photo or drawing. With perspective, we can get a sense of distance and location of things in 3D space. Face it, perspective is impossible to avoid.

So why is this "perspective" such a big deal? As said before, we get a sense of location with it. Perspective, when drawing, guides the viewer to a feeling they are standing right within the scene of your drawing. If you still don't understand what I mean, perhaps an example will help.

So here's a drawing of a scene familliar to the Nickelodeon show "Invader Zim". The characters aren't too bad. But something is oddly missing, or making the drawing not so "cool." What's missing?

Well, if you think about it, the image looks a bit... scrunched up. Everything looks so close up. Even though Zim and Gir (the robot) are on a big screen, they both seem so close together, and close to the tallest (the two annoyed at Zim's presence). Because the view's so close, there isn't much room for detail.

Now THIS is an improvement. I looks like you're staring down the room the tallest are standing in. You get a sense of how large the room is by how small and far away the big screen is compared to the tallest. There's even distance between Gir and Zim present.

This is what perspective does to a drawing. You feel a part of the action or moment. Look out for tutorials soon that explain different types of perspective to maximize your drawing's "awesomeness."
