| Information on Dogs |
| Perhaps you own a dog, or know enough about them, but here's a reference just in case. Dogs are part of the Canidae family, a family that includes wolves, coyotes, and foxes. Where do dogs live? Believe it or not, all dogs, even the domesticated ones, all come from the wild. The interesting fact with dogs is that they live just about anywhere, in all continents except Antartica. So they can live in just about any condition: grassland, temerate forest, rainforest, desert, mountain regions, and tundra. Of course, different dogs prefer different areas, but nonetheless, they're built for just about anywhere. What do dogs eat? A dog's diet is, no joke, ANYTHING. The traditional meat, fruits (especially if it's overripe), vegetables, bugs, even garbage or dirt! The things that to us people are completely disgusting and unhealthy are actually perfect for a dog. Seems crazy, but dogs can recieve more nutrients from bark or droppings than the traditional dog food. Now I'm not here to tell you which diet is better, but dogs can and will eat anything. What are dogs' personalities like? Now this is like trying to see if all the people in the world have the exact same type of habits. There are many species of dogs, thus they all have their own personality and way of living. It also depends how they have been trained, if they have a master. In short, really, it's hard to explain; dogs are like their own species of people. Commonly it is depicted that the common household dog is loyal and friendly, and dogs in higher ranking jobs such as police services are totally obedient. Wolves apparently are more fierce and terrirorial, but actually, they can be just as friendly as the domesticated dog. |
