The Path of an Artist
Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

I was an average artist like you.

I'm sure many people (or other advanced artists you know of) have said how "your work needs improvement."  But the bottom line of why their drawings have more detail than yours is simply this: practice.
We all start simple. In fact, this was the very first drawing I ever did of Shadow the Hedgehog (click on the images below to see a larger one):

The drawing is extremely poor in quality, and a lot of the proportions are odd. But after a long time, I managed to get my drawings of Shadow to look like this:
How is this possible? How could my drawing style have changed so dramatically? The only way I could: fill page after page of ridiculous-looking, awkward-possed drawings until they became more natural to create, and just one day evolved this way. It took me four years to make the look of the very first drawing of Shadow I made to the one above. A lot of the time I felt I'd never improve on my drawings, but all the practicing is worth the effort.

So you're hoping to become an artist people will remeber you by? Click on the red arrow to forward to some tips you should always keep in mind.
