| What do you see? What do you see when you see me? Do you see the real me, or do you see what I want you to see? Or do you see the mask that I've hidden behind. My mask....My rage. Do you see the prison that I've locked myself in, the prison that will be my grave. Forever will I dwell here, waiting to be free, yet fearing freedom. My mask controls me now, it is the master, and I but the slave. My body may be healthy, but my mask rots my soul. I am but an empty husk, a mere shell of a man. But I must go on. I will never stop. My mask demands it, my rage hungers for it.... and my hopelessness seeks the hope that I dare not dream of. |
