This is the list of my own computers having at least two CPUs. I try to collect all of the individual cores from AMD and Intel that can run in a dual CPU configuration. Collecting all the cores is hard to keep up with, as new processors are frequently being released, Older stuff gets harder to find as systems and components are tossed into landfills and I run out of money. These systems do work, or at least will once they are complete. Some of these "dualies" are really not fast or valuable. Some systems I have here were very common to the server rooms. A few bend the rulse for the enthusiast markets. Money will keep me from owning the newest, fastest and best. Some have been put together cheaply from eBay® and clearance type sites online. The history of dual systems
is what I want to preserve. Thousands of dollars were spent on these
systems when they were new. Many people in the computer industry have long
forgotten the evolution that has brought us to this point. It's funny to hear people in the computer industry talk about what they "know for fact"
about Dual capable machines. I know blowhards that just talk out of their asses, having never looked up this information themselves. |
