• Obtain an Arts Entertainment License for the Performance •

Before your Theatre Company can stage a theatre production that is intended for the public, an arts entertainment license has to be obtained from the Licensing Services Division of the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore. Organisations are required to submit 2 copies of the application form through post, to the following address:

Media Development Authority

Licensing Services (Films and Publications)

45 Maxwell Road

#07-11/12 URA Centre, East Wing

Singapore 069118

Applications may be faxed to the MDA at 6222 0956, however organisations will still have to submit the original form duly signed.

In addition, organisations have to submit the personal particulars of all the performers in your theatre production in a separate list as follows:

•        Name

•        NRIC No./FIN

•        Date of Birth

•        Nationality

Theatre Companies will also have to attach 3 sets of the theatre production’s synopsis and script, as well as the song titles and lyrics where applicable. As it takes time to process and issue the license, Theatre Companies are advised to submit their applications at least two weeks before the event.
