| JUST MY LUCK 9/23/98 The library that closed 15 minutes too soon, The restaurant only open till noon. The cute dress in the store right after the sale, Parking the car outside right before the hail. Flunking the test you should have aced, Being late to the marathon you should have raced. Losing the winning sweepstakes envelope, Forgetting the important dinner with the pope. Getting the answers a day too late, Missing the date that decides your fate. Being by a rabies-free dog and Getting aids from the shot, Having a wonderful dinner, refrigerating it, And letting it rot. Things can be SO crazy, mixed up, and strange, Like sleeping in a hotel bed and getting mange. Reading a story and missing the last page, Losing the key to your parrots birdcage. Its just me and my good luck To hit the ball, but not the puck. The chances in my life are so very few, And there are SO many opportunities that I blew |
