I dedicate this story that I wrote, to all my friends, a.k.a. The Crew, for I love them all so very very much.

Katie woke up on Tuesday morning, and for once, she actually felt, different. She didn’t think “Oh Lord! Another WONDERFUL day at school!” in a sarcastic tone. For, this was to be her last day as a freshman at West Chicago Community High School. Not that being a freshman was all that glamorous, but she held a certain respect for this year, for it had changed her life forever. Not only did her old friends from Winfield make new friends, but she did also. And that, is what she treasured most in the world. Having friends, people to call up on the phone and just talk with, because you have nothing better to do. People you joke around with, and jokingly make fun of. People you fight with, and then brush it off as if it were no big deal. People who care about you, and who you trust more than anything. This is what came of Katie’s freshman year. She had many, many true friends.

As she turned that oh-so familiar corner into Senior Hall, she saw all of them sitting in their tight-nit circle. Beth, with her numerous toys spewed about the floor, while trying to fight off John from drinking her Diet Coke. John, after winning the battle, and quenching his thirst, went back to playing Beth’s game boy, hunched over like Quazimoto. Stella, who was chattering wildly about Justin, stood over Beth and noticed Katie coming down the hallway. Mary-Megan, who had just hit Margot in the shoulder for unknown reasons, put on her walkman to listen to BSB. Margot, who dispised being hit in the shoulder by Mary-Megan, defensively looked up at Katie as she drew nearer. Luke, standing at the doorway with his shirt tucked in, said something to Darcie, and nearly missed a strike from her at point blank range. Lisa, was sitting down, leaning up against the glass, laughing, as, she is a happy person.

This is what Katie has for friends, what she has to deal with everyday. And she’s damn proud of it too. She looked at all of them and laughed. She sure would miss these insane psychopaths. But who said that they were going to lose touch, right?

“Beth, why the hell do you have all of these toys?” Stella looking at Beth as if she was nuts.

“I like them, that’s why....HEY! GIVE ME MY COUSIN BACK!” Beth yelled to Mary-Megan. Then, the rest of us joined in, as we each stole one of her precious family members.

“I have her Aunt!” Katie smiled triumphantly.

“I think I have her sister in her real form, AGAIN!” Luke joked.

“Aww! Look! You guys made me die!” John complained.

“Stop your whining, it’s only a stupid video game.” Stella remarked.

“Look who’s talking Stella!” John snapped back.

“HEY! Why are we always insulting each other?” Stella asked.

“I don’t really know.” John shrugged.

Katie looked at Beth. Beth looked at Katie. Yet another fish moment.

“Well, bye guys, I’m gonna go now.” Lisa announced. She gave us a great big hug. *Sigh*

“Yeah, I gotta go to my locker.” Stella started to walk out.

“Why, Stella? It’s the last day of school!” Darcie exclaimed.

“Oh yeah. Duh!” Stella giggled.

John looked at Katie, Katie looked at Beth, and suddenly...

“SSSSSSSTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLAAAAAAA!!!!!!!”

A fairly normal day, other than the fact that it was the last day of school. ‘Twas to be a fun day, for they were all planning on ditching most of their classes. Hehehe...

As the day went on, Katie became sadder and sadder. She wanted SCHOOL to end, not all the fun that went with it. But that’s why she was going to make an extra commitment to keep in touch with her new found CREW. And, as the day ended, she walked to the meeting place of her, and her good old buds Carly and Amanda. She also saw Carly’s boyfriend Cory, and Amanda Hallock. As they were all walking out to the buses, Carly tripped over something, and went sprawling on the floor. They all laughed hysterically, but within the laughter, came four voices simultaneously...

“It must be the gene pool.” Katie, Cory, and both Amanda’s stated simply. This scene was quite hilarious.

As Katie, Carly, and Amanda boarded the bus, they noticed all the familiar faces through the windows. They also noticed that it would be a whole summer until they had to deal with PIBOB again.

“PRAISE THE LORD!” Katie exclaimed.

“Yes! No more of ‘Turn left! Left! LEFT!!!’” Carly replied.

Amanda just chuckled. Good old trashy Amanda.

It was surprisingly quiet on the bus ride home, maybe because it was their last for a long time. But one thing stuck in Katie’s mind the whole way home, as she listened to her Big Willie Style CD...

“They will always be my CREW, no matter what happens.”

And as this sappy sorry excuse for a story is about to end...

MARLON BRANDO RUSHES IN THE ROOM, WHILE N*SYNC IS SINGING A LOVE SONG TO STELLA, CRUSHING THEM, KIDNAPPING STELLA, WHILE HIS EVIL SIDEKICK FOLLOWS, EATING BLUEBERRY RIPPLE WITH A TWIST, WITH JOHN PAUL AND HIS PET SQUIRREL BOB FOLLOWING THE WONDERFUL SMELL, WHILE BETH TRIES TO CALM DOWN KATIE BECAUSE SHE JUST SAW BEAU BROWN IN A G-STRING, DURING THE COURSE OF DREE ATTACKING JENA WITH HER PACK OF RABID SKUNKS FOR UNKNOWN REASONS, AND SHELTO RUSHING IN WITH THE EVIL MELISSA, SCREAMING SOMETHING ABOUT HOW THE WDS WILL NEVER TRUIMPH, AND SUDDENLY WILL SMITH RUNS IN AND SHOOTS EVERYONE EXCEPT KATIE, AND THEY RUN OFF IN SPECTACULAR BLISS, AS KATIE SAYS TO THE CONFUSED READER AT THIS VERY MOMENT......

Have a Strawberry Summer!
