| Akashic Brotherhood |
| And there we have it; the whole thing; caste, karma, the wheel of rebirth and escape from it; an association of the moon with the cycle of death and birth, and of the solar door with release; disciplines of secular piety as the mean to a favorable birth, as well as to a pleasant heavenly sojourn among the fathers, and, on the other hand, disciplines of austerity practiced in the forest, as the means to release. ---Joseph Campbell, The Masks of God: Oriental Mythology |
| With great power comes great responsibility. Hubris gets in the way of many. Such individuals are fuel for the Ascension War -- fodder for the cosmic cycle. The goal of the Akashic Brotherhood is personal Ascension. Be pure in mind. Remember that meditation and being is the method to achieve enlightenment, Ascension. Do not be distracted by the need to battle. Do not hesitate to destroy those who block your Way or impede the Flow. There is a greater truth that the Akashic brother seeks. It can not be found in learned study or hours of teaching. The goal can only be shown by example. The individual must look deep within himself and summon up the strength and sight to find what it is to be. The act of trying to do contunually gets in the way of this. The process is natural and must occur with intesne concentration until it can be naturally occuring. Like a river bed directs the flow of water, so should the Avatar of the mage learn to direct Prime. The Akashic Brotherhood applies basic principles one at a time. A group of ideas may be related to an individual. That individual must decide which idea is most important, finding the principle upon which her Avatar must focus. Questioning by the student is an important part of this process; people can not truly learn what they are not interested in. Purification and practice of the Do with strict adherence to directions given by a Mentor are necessary to grasp complete comprehension. The members of Akashic Brotherhood have alwas lead monastic lifestyles, Meditation takes place in temples, and, during states of intense mediation, Mentors "appear" to students either through use of the Sphere of Mind or via the Correspondence or Time Sphere. This withdrawn state lends to the Brother's peace of mind. Through the use of the Second Rank of the Sphere of the Mind, it is easy for a Brother to discern true teaching from false.
