| Bone Shintai |
| The Bone Shintai, the Metal element analog, is a firghtening and forbidding art, the subject of speculation even among Kuei-jin. Closely tied to the Yin, practitioners of the Bone Shintai use it to augment the corpselike features of their bodies, to become awesome and terrible combatants * Corpse Skin The student learns how to channel unwholesome Yin energies through his flesh, shich becomes pallid and corpselike. While in this state, the vampire is prenaturally resistant to damage, much like a zombie. ** White Tiger Corpse The vampire focuses Yin energy into her skin and bone marrow. By doing so, the vampire renders herself transparent and effectively invisible. This power does not affect clothing, weapons or other objects, thogh the vampire may 'bleed' additional Yin onto personal possessions to render them invisible, too. Vampires using this power can occasionally be detected by the palpable shill they radiate. *** Bone Obedience The Bone disciple, through selective manipulation of Chi, can cause his bone structure to calcify and grow like rock crystals. This power allows the user to transform parts of his skeleton into all manner of useful tools --talons, bone blades, bone armor, shrink/grow up to six inched, even make a finger into a skeleton key (no pun intended). **** Five Poison Cloud The vampire can exhale a breath or cloud of concentrated Yin. This cloud manifests as a mass of freezing black vapor. The cloud seethes with destructive energies of raw Yin; within the cloud, metal corrodes, flesh rots and plants wither and die. ***** Ch'ing Shih The vampire may permeate her flesh and bones with yin. This precipitates a grotesque transformation: the vampire's flesh turns a sickly gray, while her bones turn jet black. Her skin wrinkles and compresses around her bones. Her fangs grow long and drip venom, and black spikes jut from her back, joints and rib cage. Her entire body glows phosphorescently and sparks with Yin energy. This form is known as a ch'ing shih. ***** * Ikehone Its name is a whimsical reference to the japanese art of flower arrangement, this ability to rearrange a victim's flesh and bones, turning him into a distorted version of himself ***** ** Skeletal Sculpting A refined form of Ikehone, and not dissimilar to the ancient Kin-jin Discipline called Vicissitude, this power allows a Kuei-jin to affect another's bones without similarily affecting the attached flesh -- excpet, perhaps, to rend adn tear it. Like Ikehone, Skeletal Sculpting is sometimes regarded as a form art, and a form of torture. ***** *** Corpse Awakening This is a form of Kuei-jin Necromancy. It allows the user to invest a corpse with Chi, thus creating a sort of zombie that will follow his orders as best it can. 'Living Dead' created via this power are neither powerful nor intelligent (except in rare cases), but are usually suitable servants for at least some tasks. ***** **** Form of Infernal Favor This power, like Ch'ing Shih, floods the Kuei-jin's body with Yin energy, transforming it into a horror that makes even the Ch'ing Shih pale in comparison. Although the changes vary from manifestation to manifestation and from Kuei-jin to Kuei-jin, typically the character becomes much larger. his teeth and nails distend into black fangs and claws that are coated witha slimy poison, his skin takes on terrifying hues (typically red or black), spikes and tentacles sprout from his body, and so forth. |
