| There are a few books that I have read that I think help both personally and for family and friends. Being an FTM doesn't necissarily mean that you know everything on the subject and if it's your life, it's best to find out as much about it as possible. It's always good to have the facts as arsenal when you're trying to come out or deal with someone who doesn't agree with your lifestyle that was chosen for you. The first two books are focused on the FTM side of transsexualism, while the third book is more broad over the whole subject. I originally bought these books to help my family with my transition. Some of them still don't understand, while others are very supportive. What I have learned is that no matter how many times you explain it, no matter how well you pass, some people will never get it. - Becoming a Visible Man by Jamison Green - The Phallus Palace by Dean Kotula - True Selves by Mildred L.
