Tangle Of Human Happiness
‘I can see it in your eyes
“Okay, that has got to be the most retarded thing I’ve ever written!”
“Even more retarded than this one here?”
I turn when I hear my brother’s voice. “Hey, TK! When’d you come over?”
TK seems extremely amused by the lyrics he was holding. He lays it down on the bed beside me. “I got here a few minutes ago,” he says at last.
I pick up the paper TK had been reading just a moment before. I laughed when I read what it said. “Yeah, TK, more retarded than this.”
I have come a long way since I had written the song I was holding. It had been four years. I’ve got mobs of fangirls and a couple of fanguys following me everywhere. I hear squealing outside my window. CRAP! They’ve found me again!
I stand up. “TK, eggs and ham. That’s all I have to say.” I slip past my 15-year-old brother and creep silently toward the door. More than once, if I wasn’t careful, the door flew open and hundreds of fans streamed in. Of course, this is Dad’s apartment, so I have to literally, like, kug every single one before they’ll leave.

Good, I’ve successfully locked it.
“If you lock the door, how are you going to get to Tai’s?”
How does my brother do that? He just comes out of nowhere! I slap myself when what he said sinks in. “Oh, I promised I would tell him today, didn’t I? TK, time to resort to drastic measures; plan A.”
TK flashes me a huge grin and grabs a wig from the closet.
I am in front of Tai’s door. I just rang his doorbell and I can hear muffled voices coming from behind it. Tai pokes his big hair-filled head through the crack in the door. He grins when he sees me. His smile is his best feature. Yeah, yeah, I’m not supposed to figure out the best feature on guys but, hey! I’m gay! As in homosexual. Yes, I’m very happy too, but that’s not the point here. I am part of the group of people referred to as “bad” by way too many. Well, I don’t care what you say. I’m in love with my best friend- a GUY- and nothing you say can change that. >P Moving on…
“Come on in, Matt! Don’t just stand there!” Tai laughs as he holds the door open for me. I do all I can to stop from drooling. He’s shirtless! It’s not the first time, but all those times are in the water… umm, suddenly, I have am urge to go swimming… (A/N: *drooooll… wet Tai… drrooooll *_=*)
“Uh, Tai?” I am practically choking; my throat is so dry! This is so much harder than singing on stage!
“Drink?”
I can’t speak so I just nod. He brings me back a glass of water.
I try to drink, but my muscles seem to have become jelly, including my throat. Tai, seeing the potential spillage of water, takes it from my shaking hand. “Here, let me help you.”
He lifts the glass to my lips. He gently rubs my back, helping me to swallow. He continues this until I manage to croak, “Why do you have to be so sweet?”
Tai smiles. “Because you’re my best friend, and perhaps more, if I’m getting the right vibes from you.”
I put my head in my hands and start making hiccup-sob noises.
“I’m so sorry, Matt! I’m so sorry!” Tai moves to the far edge of the couch. Oh, how I wish he’d hug me, hold me close. I try to move, but my legs seem to have disconnected from my body.
“Tai,” I cry. I call out his name, over and over again, ascending from a whisper to as loud a word as I can manage in my troubled state.
“Matt?”
“Tai!” I look up, through tear-filled eyes and meet brown ones that are filling with tears even as I look into them. “I love you, Tai!” I say.
Tai gently glomps me in a hug, sobs now racking both our bodies, a tangle of human happiness, finally discovered.
*Hi everyone! I don’t know what I was on when I wrote this one, if anyone asks. I came across it and thought the more the better. Yeah, well, R&R please. I am writing another one that does not have a title. I affectionately call it the bus fic cause I write it on the bus. If anyone has any plot ideas… *_= ~Labyrinthia~
You suspect I’m not who I say I am
You’re right, my friend
I’m more than eggs and ham’
