Warning: This is a Yaoi/Yuri story. In other words, this has boyxboy love. I don’t care what you think about such things, I do ask that if you don’t like it, don’t read it. DUH!! Don’t send me flames, I will delete them immediately. {Maybe! ^_~} This story is not centered around Taichi and Yamato as much as my last ones. This is part of a series, if you read the other parts you may understand this one a little better. Thanks.

This story is supposed to come after both A Day in the DigiWorld, Family Finds The Way, and Digital Reunion. Some parts in this story will only make sense if you have read A Day in the DigiWorld, Family Finds The Way, and Digital Reuion. If you have read A Day in the DigiWorld, Family Finds The Way, and Digital Reuion, I hope you have also read Never Leave Me (the one before). If you haven’t, well, that’s your problem and you can try to figure out what is happening. I am using the Japanese names for the humans.

Family To The Fourth
Part Two: Finding the Truth

Finding The Truth
It happens again,
Flashback galore.

That pain,
It hurts.
Will it ever go?

Call an enemy past,
Running fast.

I'm going back,
Stop me not.

I gotta know,
Who lies,
You,
Or me?

It was dark and my head hurt.

*Oh God. Here we go again.* I thought dryly. The last time something like this happened, Yamato and I had been dragged to the other world.

*What...* A weak voice asked.

*Taito?!* I exclaimed.

*The one and only. I'm guessing you're Yamachi. He's the only one who can speak in my mind.*

*Yeah, it's me.* I felt better knowing he was there.

*Yamachi, my head hurts.* He mumbled.

*So does mine.* I told him.

*Nai. I mean it hurts! Yamachi, it's all sticky.*

*Wha-what?!* His words made my head spin.

"TAITO!!!!" I screamed as realization dawned on me.

A door opened before me, allowing some light in. Kasasagi walked in. "Good. You're up." He commented dryly.

"Where is my brother?" I asked angrily. I felt a tear fall down my cheek. It wasn't my pain I was feeling, it was Taito's.

"Why, I'm right here, Mujitsu." My look-alike said softly.

"I mean Taito. Where's Taito?" I asked, crying harder.

"Are you okay, Mujitsu? You look pale."

"Where-is-Taito?" I gasped.

"You mean that other boy you were with?"

"Hai, Taito. My brother Taito." I cried harder. *Hold on, Taito. I'll be right there.* I told him.

*I can't Yamachi. I love you. I'm glad you found your family.* He whispered. Then he smiled and died.

"NOOOOOOOOO!!!" I screamed as I felt him go. "Taito!" I broke down into sobs that racked my body and harsh coughs. Then I fainted again.

~:~

I don't remember much about the time that followed. I remember odd faces and a pounding headache. I remember an emptieness. I remember crying out Taito's name many times, and refusing food. Most of all, I remember a deep pain, a loss, in my heart. That pain will never leave, I think.

But that was all I remember.

~:~

When I awoke, I felt a soft bed, and that deep pain. Someone was in the room with me. I opened my eyes enough to see who.

It was Maho. I got a better look at her this time. She had dirty blonde hair that fell to her shoulders and a light complextion. Her eyes were a blue-green color. She wore a shirt with a unicorn on it and blue jeans. She was actually quite pretty. I noticed a crest upon her neck. *I wonder which one it is.* I thought sadly. The thought brought a memory that wasn't mine.

~Memory~

“Hey, Snowagumon, which crest is this?”

Snowagumon looked at it. “I’m not sure, but I think that’s the Crest of Song.”

“What does that mean?”

I took out my crest. “This is the Crest of Dreams. We all have crests. Lesa has Compassion. Osamu has Spirit. Don has Patience. Brian has Life. Kara has Beauty. Taro has Truth. We all have Digimentals that represent our crests too.” I showed her where my Digimental was stored.

~End Memory~

Then I remembered a memory that was mine.

~Memory~

My crest is Innocence. My brother’s is Dreams. My father, Taichi, has Courage. My other father, Yamato, has Friendship. My fathers also share one special crest, Freedom. They are the only two humans who share a crest. They say that’s why they truly decided to get married, but I don’t know whether to believe them or not.

Taito and I were adopted. We don’t remember our past, so we don’t know whether we’re brothers or not. We really don’t care. We like our lives the way they are.

~End Memory~

"Which crest is that?" I asked Maho, quietly.

"Magic. Which one do you have?" She replied, coming over.

"Innocence." I frowned.

"Something wrong, Mujitsu?" She asked.

*That's not right.* Something told me.

"I-I-I'm not sure..." I said. The pain got worse and another memory hit me.

~Memory~

“Why do you care?”

“What do you mean, little boy?”

“Don’t call me that.”

“What should I call you then?”

“My name, Yamachi."

~End Memory~

"My name is Yamachi." I told her.

"You sure?"

"I-I... I don't know." The pain flared again. "Hai! I'm sure!" I yelled. The pain lessened to a more bearable level.

"He's sure, he says so." My voice came from the door. I looked up to see Kasasagi standing there.

My hand flew to my crest. There was one, and I seemed to remember two. "Where is it?" I growled at Kasasagi.

"Where is what?" He asked. I strained to remember.

~Memory~

I tried, desperately, to grab Father Yamato, but he pushed mes away.

I turned around to find where I was goin’, and caught sight o’ Taito. “Taito!!” He looked up and we ran, odd as it may seem, into each others arms. He caught me up in a big brother hug.

“Yamachi, we are brothers. Whether we’re blood or not doesn’t matter, ‘cause we are at heart.”

“We are Family!” I shouted.

~End Memory~

"The Crest of Family, my other crest." I said at last.

"But, a person can only have one crest." Maho insisted.

"We have two!" I shouted angrily.

"You and who? You only had one when I brought you in here." Kasasagi said.

I paused, unsure. *But...*

*It disappeared when I died.*

*Taito.*

*I'm still here, I always will be. Don't you worry kooky head.*

I turned back to my twin. "Taito. My brother, Taito. It disappeared cause you didn't care!" I screamed at him. "You never cared." I said, softer this time.

"What do you mean by that?" My sister asked.

I shook my head. "I don't know. I don't remember anymore." I glared at my twin. "Where is his body?"

He shot me a look. "Same place it's always been." He said, as if Taito meant nothing. Maybe he didn't, to Kasasagi, but my older brother meant the world to me.

I jumped out of the bed and pushed past Kasasagi, out of the room. I ran down the hall. Something, or someone, led me. I heard Maho following. I flew down one flight of stairs, then another. I came to a new hall and slowed to a walk, giving Maho a chance to catch up. When she did we walked in silence.

"What did you mean by what you said earlier?" She asked after a while.

"You remind me a lot of Kath." I commented, getting around her question. It was like at the airport, our last bit of fun. I felt a tear slide down my cheek.

"You're crying again. Why?" She asked.

"I miss them. I've lost everyone."

"You have me."

I smiled. "Hai. I do."

"And you have Kasasagi."

"Nai." I said abruptly.

"But... He is our brother."

"Not mine. I don't have a brother. My brother died." I opened the door we had just come to. Taito lay on the floor, chained to the wall. There was dried blood on his head where his wound had been. I pointed to him. "That is my brother, Maho. He is dead."

I walked into the room and knelt down next to his body. "That monster that looks like me and claims to be my twin brother killed him. The same way he killed mom and dad. He ignored them as the lay there, dying from blood loss. They tried to save us, us and our elder brother. The brother those men took away. Poor Taito, it's not Kasasagi's fault. He forgot. He forgot you were that brother." I held Taito's cold body close and cried into his soft brown hair.

Maho came over and squeezed my hand. "But that's not what..."

I snapped up my head in anger. "Kasasagi lied. We were six, you were only three. I made the call to the police. Kasasagi said that he would stop the blood flow from mom and dad. I trusted the little ass! He didn't, instead he sat there. So we lost mom, dad, and Taito that night. It would have just been Taito, and I found him again, If only Kasasagi had cared!"

"How are you sure?"

I looked at Taito. Then I leaned his head forward and moved his hair, so we could both see the family birthmark. Maho gasped. "Mom and dad named him Saru."

"Leave. His name means leave."

"So it does. Mine means Innocence, my crest. Yours means Magic, your crest. Kasasagi's means magpie, a type of bird."

"You sure it isn't a type of dog." Maho grumbled as she unlocked Taito's chains.

"Hai. I'm sure. Too bad to." We laughed. I picked up our brother . "I need to get him home. It's where he wants to be." I told her as we walked out, into the hallway.

"How do you know?"

"I just do." After that we walked in silence, Maho leading the way. She knew her way better than I.

When we got outside she paused. "I don't know the way from here."

"That's okay." I mumbled, already trying for Taito. *Which way?*

*Err... Straight. You'd better hurry, he's coming.*

*I'd noticed.* I replied dryly. "Straight. Kasasagi's coming."

"I knew he wouldn't be much longer." Maho commented as we started off down the path. "How did ya know which way to go?"

"A little bird told me." She giggled.

*I'm so not a bird, kooky head.*

*Whatever you say, Taito. Whatever you say.*

*Call me Saru, now you remember. Please.* He begged. I said nothing.

"Get back here!" Kasasagi called from behind us.

"Keep going. I'll hold him off." I hissed to Maho, trying to hand her Saru's limp form.

"No way! I'm staying!" She said, turning around to face Kasasagi with me. I placed Saru gently on the grass.

"You will pay!" Kasasagi shouted to us. A group of monsters appeared behind him.

"He has so many." Maho whispered.

"Bloody Arrows!" One of them shouted.

"Myotismon!!" I yelled. Don't ask me why.

Myotismon appeared before us. "Grizzly Wing!" He shouted, stopping the attack. "Get them out of here!" He yelled at the three woman behind us.

The three woman, Lady Myotismon, Sari, and Sarah, walked over to us. "You called for help, Yamachi?" Lady Myotismon asked, a thin smile on her face. I nodded as I picked up Saru. The ladies hurried us away, as Myotismon stayed to fight.

When we got out of the woods I saw where we were, only a few miles from Mount Kochi. *They're still on the mountain.* Saru mumbled.

"My family and friends are on Mount Kochi!" I shouted. Lady Myotismon nodded and whistled. Three Airdramon flew up.

"Good luck. We will hopefully meet again." Lady Myotismon said and turned away.

"Wait!" I shouted. "I'm going back with you! Kasasagi is my brother, I may be able to reason with him." She stopped and looked back at me. I turned back to Maho. "Go. Take Tait-Saru with you. Tell them to stay put. We'll be with you shortly." She nodded and we parted.
