Digimon Watchers: The New Adventure
Part two
By: Katmon =^.^= Ichijouji

~England~

This is where youll be staying. My room is right down the hall. Let me know if you need anything. William Pretigue told Daiho Iroi. Dai, as she was called at home, was originally from Japan, but was visiting Will, her English speaking penpal who stood before her.

Do you have a computer I may borrow? She asked as politely as possible. She wanted to check up on her friends. The best way to do that was to go to the DigiWorld. That meant getting Will to let her use the computer alone.

Right this way. He mumbled, leading the way down the hall. They stopped in front of a closed door and a puppy bound up to them. Wills bored face gave way to a joyful one. Groulmon! Id wondered where youd gotten to! He cried, kneeling down next to the puppy.

*Wills a Digidestined?! Boy am I lucky!* Whos this? Dai asked, kneeling down next to the two.

This is my puppy. His name is Groulmon. He said so. The boy said, his brown eyes defiant.

Dai let the Digimon sniff her hand. So, Groulmon talks. Cool.

You-you... You believe me?! The boy asked, amazed.

Hai. I believe you. Doesnt anyone else?

No. Groulmon only spoke when I first met him. Thats when he told me his name. He said hes a Digimon but I dont know what that is. The little boy said sadly.

Dai got up and offered a hand. Come on. Ill show you. She said, a smile on her face.

The younger boy looked at Groulmon. Groulmon nodded and the boy looked up. Where to?

The computer. Dai said. Will shrugged and led her into the office. He pointed at the computer and gave her a questioning look. Dai pulled out her red D-3 and stepped up to the computer. Pick up Groulmon and take my hand. She instructed Will. When he did she turned back to the computer, holding her D-3 out before her. Digi Port open! She shouted and the room filled with light.

When the light disappeared, the boy and girl were gone too.

~Digital World~

What? Where... Where are we?! Will asked, cluching on to Dais arm.

The DigiWorld! Dai said happily. She cupped her hands around her mouth. Mushmon! Where are you?! She called to the empty expances.

Wills eyes lite up in fear as a large mushroom__ame bounding up to them. A large mushroom with a purple top with yellow rings, redish colored shoes and gloves, belts holding the shoes and gloves in place, and a skull and crossed bones on each glove. Then Dai knelt down and hugged the thing. She was smiling.

Will lost it and fainted.

~:~

When Will came to he found Groulmon on his stomach and heard Dai talking with someone. Hes up! Groulmon called and got off Will as he sat up.

What... He started when he saw a group of people watching him, Dai and the monster included, and fainted again.

Hes new to the DigiWorld. Dai explained, turning back to the group of humans.

So were we. But we didnt faint. Clifelra Jhorns pointed out. Her Digimon, Nejmamon stood at her side.

But you had already met other Digimon, and the first one you saw in the DigiWorld wasnt Mushmon. No offense. Tenchia Karai reminded them.

None taken. I know I can be imposing. Mushmon said to Karais apology.

Imposing isnt the word for it. Thomar Granarma said as Katrania Monstrie walked over to the fainted boy and his Digimon. Dai shot a glare at Thom.

What are you doing, Kat? Her father, James Monstrie, asked.

Just checking, dad. She called back as she and Sphinxmon, her Digimon, came to the boy and Digimon. The others continued talking among themselves as Kat and Sphinxmon sat next to the boy. You poor thing. I remember when I met Katmon. I reacted quite the same way, or would have, if Drac and Clip hadnt rode up.

Will heard a calming voice and opened his eyes. Mom? He asked as the blue eyes, dirty blond hair, and pale skin came in to view.

The twelve year olds voice was soothing. No, Will. Im not your mom. My names Kat. Were your friends. Dont be scared by Mushmon, he wont do anything to you.

Will liked Kat instantly. At eleven and so far away from home and everything he knew, all he wanted was someone to hold on to. Someone like his mom. Kat seemed to fill that place nicely. I wanna go home. Will cried, dropping his English accent.

You poor baby. So do I, but our only way home is gone. Were all trapped in the DigiWorld. Kat said sadly.

Will started to cry silently. Will you take care of me since mommys not here, Kat? He asked, wanting to make sure he would have someone to lean on if anything bad happened.

Of course. As long as you help me if something bad happens to me. Kat returned. She knew that both her big brother and father were here, but wanted to make Will feel more at home with the small, yet ever growing group of Digidestined.

Sure. Well watch out for each other. He said brightly. Kat smiled.

Kat! Weve decided to... Dais voice trailed off as she saw Will was up. She looked at the girl. How did you manage to get him up and keep him from fainting again? Dai asked.

Kat shrugged as she helped Will up. Its the magic touch. She said, flashing the older girl a grin. Now, what did you all decide? She asked as she and Will, followed by their Digimon, walked over to the rest of the group.

Were going to Gennais for answers, and look for our other friends on the way. Karai said.

Kat nodded. Then lets go. Please tell me were not walking. The others laughed and held out their D-3s. Kat joined them. Digi Armor Energize! The six younger humans cried together. Will watched in amazement as each Digimon digivolved.

Sphinxmon, armor digivolve to... Blackmon, The Darkness of the Light!

Draculunmon, armor digivolve to... Kuketmon, The Bat of Courage!

Nejmamon, armor digivolve to... Gakmon, The Flying Stone of Love!

Cobramon, armor digivolve to... Dragoonmon, The Dragon of Hope!

Plotmon, armor digivolve to... Tenshimon, The Compassionate Angel!

Mushmon, armor digivolve to... Trumon, The Truth of the Skies!

Will felt better when he saw that Mushmon digivolve into something that wasnt as frightening. Then Jonathan Granarma held out his turquoise D-3.
Digivolve! He called to the bird type Digimon beside him.

Penmon, digivolve to... Airdramon!

Everyone got on their Digimon, except for James, who rode with Jon, and Will, who rode with Kat, much to his delight.

~:~

Will was half asleep when Karai gave a shout. Go down! I see them! As they flew lower Will saw a group of three kids trudging along in the desert. Konnichi wa! Karai shouted to the three humans.

Konnichi wa, Karai, Dai, and your friends! The boy at the head of the group called back. We landed next to them.

Who are your friends, Karai? A little boy asked, running up to the waiting girl.

This is Kat, her brother, Drac, and her father, James. Clip, their neighbor. Thom, a friend, and his father, Jon. Then last, but not least, Will, who has become attached to Kat already. Karai said, pointing out each person as she said their name. And this is my little brother, Rou, Zai, and Kai. She explained to the other group.

The ones on their Digimon got off and everyone got properally aquainted.

So, what brings you guys out here? Jeronai Zairo asked when the greetings were done and they were resting under a group of trees.

Well, we were looking for you. Karai said.

Why? Ishioudai Kaiyaman asked.

Because, were stuck here and we were wondering if you were too. If so, were heading to Gennais. Why are you guys so far out? Karai replied.

Same thing. Were stuck and were looking for you. We hadnt thought of going to Gennais. The thought didnt come up. Also, we found a Digimental, so we were going to go check it out. Kai said.

Lets go! Thom said, jumping up.

Slow down hopeless! Were taking a break! Kat cried, pulling him back down.

I suggest youd all stand up! An evil voice shouted.

What the?! Zai shouted as the whole group jumped up.

They found themselves facing a Black Tailmon. You are all tired, huh? Well too bad! Cat Punch! The Black Tailmon called, sending a punch their way.

They ducked under it, but still, it knocked over a tree! Digivolve! The group of Digidestined cried to their Digimon.

Sphinxmon, digivolve to... Angelkitymon!

Draculunmon, digivolve to... Chimon!

Nejmamon, digivolve to... Grekmon!

Cobramon, digivolve to... Pharomon!

Plotmon, digivolve to... Angewomon!

Yuki Agumon, digivolve to... Yuki Greymon!

Bakumon, digivolve to... Bakemon!

Candmon, digivolve to... Meramon!

Mushmon, digivolve to... V-dramon!

Midoki Betamon, digivolve to... Coelamon!

Penmon, digivolve to.. Airdramon!

Groulmon, digivolve to... Trouglmon!

Twelve Digimon stood before the lonely champion. Then Arulamon and Jarnmon joined her and Kat couldnt help but give an experated sigh. Will looked up at her. Whats wrong, Kat? He asked.

Kat pointed to Arulamon and Jarnmon as she spoke. Those two always seem to turn up at the wrong time. She grumbled.

Drac came and put an arm around her shoulders. Yeah, and we defeat them everytime! He said, a grin on his face.

Yes, I know. But this time theyre stronger. Kat argued.

Listen to the little lady! She knows what shes saying! Arulamon called. Blood Spill!

Flying Balls! Called Jarnmon.

Cat Punch! Black Tailmon added.

But theyre asking for it! So give it to em! Kat called to the hoard of Digimon as the attacks rushed at them.

Black Cats Arrow! Shouted Angelkitymon.

Touch of Good! Chimon called.

Armor Bomb! Grekmon cried.

Tail Throw! Added Pharomon.

Saint Aim! Called Angewomon.

Ice Blast! Yuki Greymon put in.

Evil Charm! Shouted Bakemon.

Red Flames! Shouted Meramon.

V-Nova Blast! Added V-dramon.

Variable Darts Called Coelamon.

God Tornado! Airdramon cried.

Tail Smacker! Added Trouglmon.

Black Tailmon got out of the way of all but Angelkitymons and Angewomons attacks. Those two had cat forms and were expecting Black Tailmons moves. Chimon, Grekmon, and Pharomons attacks hit the attacks from the emeny, keeping them from hurting their troops. The others attacks either went astray or hit Arulamon or Jarnmon, who hadnt moved very far from theyre original places.

Well be back, brats! Arulamon called as the trio ran off.

All the Digimon de-digivolved as the Digidestined celebrated their victory. The Digimon ran over to their humans and the joy continued.

Its getting dark. Kat called.

Time to find shelter! Kai shouted.

We saw some caves near here on our way! We can go there! Jon called.

Then lets go! Zai called.

They started walking in the direction indicated by Jon, not wanting to make the Digimon anymore tired.

Tachikawa Mimi watched the group move off in the slowly growing darkness. Good luck, little ones. She whispered and flew away as Rosemon, her job done. The next twelve were together, and safely on their way. It was time to report to Taichi and Yamato.

~America~

Kat! Drac! School! Atrai Monstrie called upstairs to her two sleeping children. When she didnt get a response she went to check on them.

Dracs room was empty. That had her worried, since Kat had a friend over. Usually Drac wouldnt bother his sister at a time like this. She went to Kats room. It was empty and the computer was on. She went to read what was wrote.

>>Mom, were all okay! We met up with dad and will be back soon! Love, Kat & Drac.

My babies! Atrai cried, as she re-read the e-mail again and again, hoping her daughter was right.

~:~

Jennifer Jhorns walked over to her daughters room and knocked on her door. When she didnt get an answer she walked in. Her computer was on, but that was all. Jennifer went over to read which friends house her daughter was spending the night at this time.

>>Mom & Dad,
>Kat, Drac, and I are elsewhere. Dont try looking for us, we cant be found.
Well all be back >ASAP. I promise!
>Love and all that,
>Clifelra

Jeremy! Jennifer cried, knowing something was wrong.

~:~

Thomar! Get up! Irena Granarma called to her son. When no sound came from his room, she opened the door.

Only to find him gone. She searched the room carefully and found no trace of him. She ran next door, where he often hung out, and found he had gone to Kats with his snake yesterday afternoon.

So she called Kats house. Atrai, is... Whats wrong?

Atrai was sobbing. Theyre with their father, somewhere. I dont know where. I think Thoms with them. Atrai said, and the two women burst out sobbing, knowing that their children would come back when they were ready.

~England~

William! Breakfast! Nyx Pretigue called up to her son. She looked up the stairs and noticed that the office room door was open. She walked over to close it when she noticed the computer on. That boy. She grumbled to herself as she walked over to turn it off.

Then she noticed something was written on the screen.

>>Mother & Father,
>I miss you, but I am well. One of my new friends will take care of me while Im gone. Dont >bother to look for me, Im not there.
>Love,
>William

Mendal! William and his friend are gone! Theres an e-mail on the computer from him! Nyx called down the stairs.

Mendal Pretigue came up the stairs and read the note. He pounded his fist on the table. Shit! Where are they! He yelled at the computer, as if expecting an answer.

~Japan~

Jeronai Tarinai ran downstairs crying. Her mother looked up, worry written all over her face. Tarinai, whats wrong? She asked her eldest.

Zai is gone to the Digital World! The girl cried. Her mother joined her. Both wondered if they would ever come back.

~:~

Tenchia Ranam stared at the little computer screen before him, reading the few words on it again and again. He had been waiting for this, but had hoped it wouldnt happen. Karai and Rou were Digidestined. He ran to the phone and dialed Raleas number.

Moshi-moshi. Raleas voice said from the other line.

Theyre Destined. Was all Ranam said.

They... You must be kidding me, Ranam! Ralea cried.

Im not. They are both in the Digital World with four from America, one from England, and two who were trapped there. Zai, Kai, and Dai are there with them.

Twelve. Just like before.

Nai. There where more before. Only twelve here.

That is right. Im sure theyll make it home.

Hai. I am too.

~:~

Ishioudai Jendera & Filai took it harder than the other parents. They called the police. But once the police found the note saying the words Digital World, they gave their congratulations and left. It was an honor to have your children as Digidestined in Japan. The two parents were left to cry alone.

~Digital World~

They were in the cave, sitting in a circle around a blazing fire. Will was asleep in Kats lap. Rou was asleep in Karais. The Digimon sat, or lay, next to their humans. The ones awake sat watching the flames dance over the wood, seemingly in trances.

Then, So, you say there were other Digidestined before us, yet Ive never heard of them. Kat said quietly.

Dai looked up at her. They started out in Japan, and thats the only place the story is still believed. They say that the DigiWorld used to be opened to all, but closed after the Final Battle destroying the peace that the original Digidestined had worked so hard to make.

The Final Battle came up when the grandchildren of the Digidestined were little. A very strong Digimon came to the real world. Others tried, but none could banish it. They called on the original twelve and pleaded help. The original twelve went up against the Digimon, and had their Digimon digivolve to mega. Twelve megas against one. You would expect for them to destroy it immeadiatly. Dai paused for a drink and the others waited for her to continue. Even those from Japan enjoyed hearing the Legend of the Digidestined. It was an exciting event, and not many could tell it like Dai, or so her friends said.

But thats not what happened. The Digimon were old and tired. The new enemy way young and strong, so easily overpowered the Digimon of the Digidestined. They Digimon reverted to their normal forms, the evil Digimon towering over them. They couldnt go on, for they were to weak. The world lost its hope.

Then a bright light shined out of nowhere! It was from one of the younger males! He was the holder of Hope and hadnt lost his hope. Light shined beside him, Kindness, Courage, Friendship, Love, Faith, Purity, and Knowledge. They all shone, the other three shining from the Digimentals in their D-terminals. And the twelve cried out as one, We are one forever more! Let us survive that way! And the Digidestined and their Digimon merged in being, the Digimon digivolving back to their mega levels!

They defeated the evil together, the way its always been. Then the Digidestined and the Digimon turned to the mortals watching them. They bowed and left through a Digital Portal, closing all open and sealing them tight. Anyone in the DigiWorld at the time was sent home. Not even the Digimon know where the Digidestined reside, though it is said to be in an isolated part of the DigiWorld. Any who have seen them are not around to tell.

But the Final Battle took place centuries ago. Gennai may know where the Digidestined live now, if they still do. No one remembers their names anymore. All other history about them is lost to us forever. Dai hung her head.

Tell them about the legend, Dai! Rou called. He and Will had woken up near the beginning of the telling of the story.

The legend... Of course. Dai smiled. They say that the twelve will return, to help twelve new from all over the world. Those new twelve will free the old twelve, and defeat five evils. Then, only they will ever return to the DigiWorld. She looked at each in turn. Thats all I know, except that they say that one of the Digidestined wiil be a Great One. We can find this person by their Light, Kindness, Love, Hope, Faith, Purity, Courage, Friendship, Knowledge. Also, the person will have two crests and their Digimon will digivolve to mega first. Dai shrugged. I dont know who the person is though.

The others sat back to think about what Dai had said. Kat stood up. Ill take first watch. Everyone else should get some sleep. She mumbled, walking to the head of the cave.

Since when does she do watches? Drac mumbled as he curled up with Draculunmon. His father shrugged as he too lay down for a good nights sleep. The others soon followed their example. Soon nothing but soft snores came from inside the cave.

Who are you, and why are you watching us? Kat asked the darkness. A silent form slipped from the overhang above her.

Kat found herself face to face with a little flying fariy-like Digimon. You catch on quick, little one. It muttered.

Ill repeat my question. Who are you, and why are you watching us? Kat said calmly.

Not too many would keep their calm, let alone know I am there. The little Digimon replied, handing out riddles.

Who are you, and why are you watching us? Kat repeated, the calm tone never leaving her voice.

I am MarineAngemon. Im watching you because its my job. The Digimon replied.

You didnt answer my question. Kat stated.

Yes I did.

Not all of it.

All Im allowed to give away.

Whatever, Kido Jou. She stated quietly.

The Digimon looked taken aback, then, slowly, it turned into a human. How did you know, Kat? Jou asked, shock written on his face.

Kat shrugged. I just do. She mumbled.

I dont believe you. Jou pushed.

Thats all Im allowed to give away. Kat said, using his line from before.

Point made. Taichi and Yamato send me. Its my job to make sure you all get where your going, unharmed. Jou admitted.

Great. We have a guide who cant even let us know hes there. Kat grumped.

I would have succeded too. Jou said, glaring at the young child. His face softened. You remind me of Hikari, when she was your age. He said.

Kat glanced up at him. Arigatou, I think.

Jou laughed. Sometimes its a good thing to be like Hikari, sometimes it isnt.

Ill keep that in mind. Kat mumbled. Jou grinned. Kats lighter green eyes suddenly darkened. Trouble. She mumbled, running back inside the cave.

Jou looked around, he didnt see anything, but, like Kat, he felt the wind shift. He canged back to MarineAngemon and flew into the air. *Not many can feel that shift, unless theyve lived here for a century, are Digimon, or they are special.* He thought as he flew up to get a better look.

Well I dont see anything. Drac grumped as Kat led him and the others out of the cave.

Baka. You cant see it, its a feeling. Kat explained.

Oh! The last time you had a feeling that turned out right was... Drac asked, leaving a blank.

Kat glared at her brother. Marine Angemon decided it was time to reveale himself, some. He knew Kat was right, and his job was to get them where they were going. They had to get there together. He flew down beside the human girl. Lay off. I feel it too. He said, carefully.

What the... A few gasped.

Kat on the other hand gave him a severe look. Marine Angemon! What do you think youre doing?! Kat whispered urgently.

Keeping you out of trouble. He said innocently, giving Kat a wink.

She winked back. Youve been in the DigiWorld too long. It was a game. If the others believed he was a real Digimon he might be able to stay with the group without having to hide.

Kat, whos your friend? Karai asked, watching the Digimon warily.

Will walked over to the Digimon. Hes cute. I like him. Whats your name little dude? Will asked, patting Marine Angemon on the head lightly.

This is Marine Angemon. He came by during my watch and we got to talking. Can he stay? Please! Kat begged, putting on a pleading face.

Drac gave in. Why not. If itll shut you up. The others smiled as Kat ran over and hugged her older brother.

Suddenly, a chill came over the group of humans and Digimon alike. Kat looked up with Marine Angemon, speechless. The others followed their gaze. Whos that?! Dai called out, frightened.

Kat turned to Marine Angemon. Well?

*I should have known.* Demon! Marine Angemon called out angrily.

Kat had to hold on to Marine Angemon as he tried to fly at the large Digimon. Marine Angemon! Let us handle this! She shouted over the sudden winds. Marine Angemon looked down at her and nodded, settling on the ground.

A shout from the group rang out. Digivolve! A bright light encased the Digimon as they readied to digivolve.

Sphinxmon, digivolve to... Angelkitymon!

Draculunmon, digivolve to... Chimon!

Nejmamon, digivolve to... Grekmon!

Cobramon, digivolve to... Pharomon!

Plotmon, digivolve to... Angewomon!

Yuki Agumon, digivolve to... Yuki Metal Greymon!

Bakumon, digivolve to... Phantomon!

Candmon, digivolve to... Blue Meramon!

Mushmon, digivolve to... Areo V-dramon!

Midoki Betamon, digivolve to... Waru Seadramon!

Penmon, digivolve to... Mammothmon!

Groulmon, digivolve to... Cerbrmon!

The twelve ultimates faced the mega. Kat caught Marine Angemon fiddling with something. She stepped over. What ya doin? She asked.

Calling the others. They need to know our postion.

You dont think we can defeat him?! Kat cried.

You may be able to run him off. But as you can see, we couldnt even defeat him. Marine Angemon explained.

This is the Digimon you all lost, or almost lost, to?!

Hai. Marine Angemon said grimly. Big, isnt he? Hey! Watch who youre calling little! Marine Angemon cried.

Sorry. But you are kinda small. Marine Angemon glared at her. In this form, of course! She added quickly.

Incoming! A voice cried. The two friends got out of the way, but the other Digidestined blacked out.

Kat watched in fear as Marine Angemon flew up to join a group of ten in the sky. The eleven turned to Demon. Get out of here! Two of them yelled. Demon glared at them, but disappeared. The eleven Digimon flew down to where the new Digimon and Digidestined lay, all but Kat out cold.

Kat stood up as the eleven changed to humans. A woman walked over to Kat. She had mid-back length brown hair. Her eyes were brown, tinted with red. She was pretty. She held something in her hand. Kat. Nice to meet you. Im Yagami Hikari, the original holder of Light. Hikari took Kats hand and put the thing in her hand into the girls hand.

Kat looked at it. *A tag and crest.* She looked into the womans eyes. Arigatou, Hikari. She whispered. It was the Crest of Light. Hikaris own.

Hikari smiled. Glad you like it. Will you help us load your friends onto Imperial Dramon? Then we can take you to our home, if you like.

Kat looked at her friends. *I wish one of them was awake to decide for us. Since its not my choice.* Kat looked at Jou, her friend. He was nodding slightly. Kat grinned. Why not! She said, bringing a smile to the others faces.

Daisuke! Hikari called and one of the men changed back to a Digimon. Then lets load them on. Hikari said and turned back to the others, who had already begun loading her friends onto the large Digimons back.

Kat followed, slower. When she got to Will she picked him up and carried him towards the Digimon. Then Will opened his eyes. Kat? He whispered.

Kat smiled. Hai. Its me. Hush now, were all going on a ride with some friends. Get some sleep. Got it? Will nodded and went back to sleep, Kat placing him carefully on the Digimons back.

Why is he so close to you? Do you know? A voice asked from behind her.

Kat flipped around, wishing she had Sphinxmon. One of the men stood there with her brother. The man had slightly wild blond hair. His blue eyes were like ice. Hes attached to me cause he wanted a mother figure in our camp. I ended up being it. Which one are you?

The man grinned. Ishida Yamato. Metal Garurumon as a Digimon. Nice to meet you. He looked back at a younger man who was laughing with Hikari, and looked like him. Yamato sighed. I remember the first time I came to the DigiWorld. No one needed me, not ever Takeru. Now we lead different lives, and Im the one he looks up to again. Yet he has Hikari to lean on. Its nice to be needed. It fills a gap. Yamato sighed again, putting Drac down carefully.

Is Takeru your brother, Yamato? Kat asked, curious.

Hai. My one and only. When we were still in the real world I had my children to lean on me. Now I dont even have my brother. It hurts to lose someone, knowing youll never see them again.

I thought I had lost my father. Then it had turned out he was here, with Thoms dad, who was thought dead. My friend, Vin, lost her mom at birth. It can be hard to lose someone, but knowing that you dont have that chance of seeing that person again... I think I see what youre going through. I cant truly say Ive ever been in the same postion, but I think I see where youre coming from. Kat said thoughtfully.

Yamato watched the girl as she went to go pick up the Digimon. *That girl is special. She tries to see everyones point of view, not just her own. A useful talent.* Yamato thought as he picked up another Destined and put him on Daisuke. In his human form, he always saw his friends as human. In his Digimon form, he always saw his friends as Digimon. Thats just the way it worked.

~:~

They had loaded everyone on and were heading back to the home of the Digidestined. Kat, Hikari, Jou, and the unconcious humans and Digimon rode Imperial Dramon. The others served as a guard. Hikari was standing at the head when the mountain came into veiw. Mount Kochi. She whispered.

The other two still awake came to look. It was huge! It reached the clouds and past. What is it called? Kat asked, watching as they drew closer.

It gained the name Mount Kochi centuries ago. Thats what we still call it, mostly because the mountains true name brings back bad memories. Jou answered.

What was the mountains true name? Kat asked.

Infinity Mountain. Both said quietly. The way they said it sent a shiver through Kats spine, but she kept quiet, intent on watching as the mountain loomed ever closer.

We should start waking up your friends. Hikari said.

Kat nodded. Hai. Theyll want to see this, I think. The others laughed as they went around waking the sleeping Destined. If anyone tried to ask a question they were hushed and sent to watch the mountain.

Soon everyone was up and watching the mountain. Will was clinging to Kats arm, afraid of the Digimonless humans. He had decided that all humans had to have a Digimon to reside in the DigiWorld. Kat didnt tell him who the two humans were, they had agreed to handle that at the mountain.

Katmon sat on Kats hat, which she was still wearing, and curled up. Katmon, you better not be planning to take a nap up there. I would like to keep my head attached to my shoulders if you fall. Kat grumbled. The others were chukling lightly.

Than Ill take off your ear instead. Katmon mumbled, snuggling in Kats hat.

Get off my head! Kat shouted, the others laughing so hard they had tears in their eyes.

But Im tired! Katmon whined.

That doesnt work with my mom and it aint gonna work with me! Get off my head, Katmon! Kat insisted. Katmon jumped down on to Kats shoulder and sat there, watching the other humans laughing at her.

Needless to say, when Imperial Dramon landed and the others werent prepared, they went and fell on their butts. Kat walked out clamly. The others dragged themselves out, still laughing, mostly at their own mistake. The other Destined watched the others laughing, some still pointing at Kat and the Digimon on her shoulder. When Yamato shot Kat a questioning look, she shrugged.

Then Daisuke returned in the place of Imperial Dramon and silence filled the air, Will ran and hid behind Kats legs. Daisuke looked tired. He was sitting on the floor, mumbling things. Hikari and Jou went to help him up. You okay, Daisuke? Hikari asked the man, worry lines all over her face.

Nai. You dont know how tiring it is to carry you bunch of heavy bakas. Daisuke grumped.

We offered to help, but you said nai. Takeru pointed out, walking over to the trio.

I was the only one who could have protected them. Daisuke argued.

Will you two stop arguing, just this once! We have guests! A woman with long purple hair cried out at the two men glaring at each other. The men nodded to the woman, shook hands, and hugged, just like old friends.

Kat decided it was time to introduce her friends. Guys. She called. The newer Destined turned to her. These are the original Digidestined. I dont know everyones name yet... Kat started.

Taichi broke in. Im Yagami Taichi. The leader of our little group.

Yamato stepped forward. Ishida Yamato. The second in charge. Not like Taichi ever needs me...

Yama! Takeru stepped forward. He looked just like his brother, except his hair was neater. Takaishi Takeru. Im Yamatos brother.

Hikari stepped up. Yagami Hikari. Im Taichis sister.

Daisuke regained his balance and stepped up to join the others. Motomiya Daisuke. Your baka ride. He grumbled the last part, trying to smooth his short, wild brownish-red hair to no avail.

The purple haired woman stepped up. Inoue Miyako. Her eyes showed she had been crying recently. Kat took this into account, hoping for answers later.

A brown haired boy, his hair neater than the others, stepped up. Hida Iori.

A woman with redish-brown hair stepped up. Takenouchi Sora.

A man with red hair stepped up. Izumi Koushiro. The computer whiz. The others nodded in agreement.

Jou stepped up, his neat blue hair shinning in the partial light. Kido Jou. You all know me as Marine Angemon. A small gasp excaped the lips of some of the younger Digidestined.

A woman with hair a darker shade of hair then Sora stepped up. Tachikawa Mimi.

Now that weve all named each other... Taichi started when Kat cut in.

But, wheres Ken? She asked carefully.

The result of the question was Miyako bursting out in tears and Hikari, Mimi, and Sora trying to comfort her. Kat felt guilty. She went over to the crowd of woman. Im sorry, Miyako. I didnt know that was gonna upset you. She apologized.

Hikari looked up. We should have warned you about that. No one knows were Ken is at the moment. Weve been looking for him. Ken and Miyako are married, so she took it the hardest when we found he had been captured by Demon, or one of the other evils in the DigiWorld.

Kats mind was spinning, but she felt that she might be able to help. Is there any way I... She paused and looked at the boy at her feet. That we can all help? Kat asked the women.

Miyako looked at the girl, her brownish-red eyes still shinning with tears. Hai. Im sure we can find something for the twelve of you, if the others agree. Miyako looked beyond the girl and the nodding boy at her feet to the group behind them. Kat could tell by the look it Miyakos eyes that her friends were with her the whole way.

But first, food, baths, and your own rooms. Or would you perfer to get right to work? Jou chuckled.

Kat looked at her friends, since she seemed to be in charge of the decisions. The others shrugged, so Kat looked at the boy attached to her legs. Will, what do you think?

Food! The boy cried, making everyone laugh.

Food, baths, and rooms first. Well start on the search tomorrow. She heard sighs of relief from behind her.

Miyako nodded. Well show you to your rooms.

~:~

She couldnt sleep. So she decided to walk the halls. Kat? What are you doing up? A voice called from an open hall.

She turned down it and found herself in a cozily lit room. A large screen filled one wall and Koushiro was fiddling with some wires in the corner. I couldnt sleep. You?

Miyako came from another door way. He sits here night and day trying to get through all the codes Ken set up on this stupid computer. I was helping him, then got a headache and went to get some food.

Mind if I help? Kat asked.

If you think you can. Its complicated. Ken has been working on a series of underground tunnels for decades now. They are built into the mountain. We were hoping to find some clues to where he is down there. The only problem is that only Ken knew the access codes, and he isnt here.

Kat sat at a chair. I cant sleep anyway. Its something to do, and I wont feel so guilty about making you cry earlier.

That wasnt your fault. You were just stating the obvious. But any help is welcome. Miyako said, sitting next to Kat.

Is there a keyboard to this thing? Kat asked. Koushiro looked up. Its over here... Somewhere... He ducked down under the pile of wires and came out on their side with the keyboard. Now all I need to do is figure out how to turn this thing on. He mumbled.

You havent even gotten it on yet?! Kat asked, amazed.

Ken has ways, good ways, of making sure no one goes into his stuff. Miyako grumbled.

Kat got up and got a closer look at the blank screen. Suddenly she laughed. The other two turned to her. I see why you couldnt turn it on. She giggled. The two gave her blank stares. How would he keep even a computer whiz out off of his computer? She asked, turning to them.

You cant. Thats what Ive been try... Koushiro started then Kat started giggling again. They looked up at her.

You cant, unless its not a real computer. Kat pushed at the screen and it swung open. Shall we go see what there is to see? She asked, hopping into the hole.

The other soon followed, making sure the secret door was closed. How did you figure it out? Koushiro asked as they walked the empty halls.

Well, you said that only he knew the codes. That meant it had to be something too simple for you to figure out. An old childs trick works well. You two were thinking too much like Ken. He knew you would do that. Plus, you said under ground tunnels. That means there had to be a place to acess them in that room. The only place I saw was the screen. Kat explained.

Koushiro sighed. Ive been outwitted by a twelve year old. He grumbled, making both ladies laugh.

Im sure worse has happened in the past. Miyako giggled.

Like? Koushiro insisted.

The time that Orangamon figured out your hardest riddle. Miyako giggled.

Koushiro sighed in defeat, then looked around. Where are we? He wondered aloud.

They were standing in the middle of a large hall, with doors lining it. Each door had an indention in it, with ancient writing. Miyako walked over to get a look at the writing, then came back to the group, depressed. Its in Digi Code. Even Ken had trouble understanding that. She whinned, breaking down into sobs again.

As Koushiro tried to comfort her, Kat walked up to the first door. She looked at the pictures. *Digi Code, huh.* She thought as she pulled out her D-terminal, though she knew not why. She looked at the Digimental of Light stored in the D-terminal, than back at the diagram. The Digimental of Light was right in between the sign of Light, which she had, and another that she had never seen before.

The other was a small circle. It had a cresent moon on one side, a cresent moon with a tail on the other. Kat looked up at the indentment. It looked as though something could, would, fit there. It was in the shape of her D-3. So she took out her D-3 and fit it into the space. The door creaked open, making both adults startle.

What... You opened it! How? Can you read Digi Code? Miyako called, running over, Koushiro not far behind.

Kat looked up at the woman. That was Digi Code? It looked like a group of pictures to me. Kat said.

Koushiro groaned. Than you go in. Ken made it so only you could read the writing for a reason. Then well see if any of the others can be read. Koushiro whispered, pushing Kat toward the open door.

Kat straightened her shoulders and walked in. On either side of the room was a raised stone, much like the ones they had encountered in the cave where the America Destined had recived their Digimentals. Kat walked over to the one on her right first. As she put a hand on the cold stone, a pod opened and a Digimental popped out.

The new Digimental was in the shape of an eye. It was black with red streaks. A bright red rose was imbedded in the center. Kat picked it up, and it went to her D-terminal. *These things have minds of their own.* She grumbled, as she walked to the other platform. A new Digimental popped up, something half hidden below it.

The new Digimental was pink, and shaped like a flower. It had the same symbol as on the door on it. She picked it up, and it stayed in her hand. She was reaching down to the item on the platform when Katmon came bounding in. Kat! There you are! A new Digimental! Wow! The little Digimon jumped up on Kats shoulder as she picked up the item on the platform. There was a flash of light and Kat, Katmon, the new Digimental, the strange item, and her D-3 dissappeared, the door to the room slamming shut!

~A Millenium Ago~

Kat shook her head to clear it and to look at the item in her hand. It was a new crest! The same one as on the door.

Actually. Its not the real crest. The real crest is with me. Its the Crest of Kindness. A male voice from behind her said, answering the questions in her mind. Kat flipped around to see who was talking to her. She found a man with indigo colored hair chained to a wall. He looked hurt, sad even. His purple eyes were staring into hers, making her freeze at the intensenty of them. Who-who are you? She asked when she found her voice.

Ichijouji Ken. The man whispered, bitting his lip in pain of a sorts. Take the crest, it will send you back to the others. He mumbled.

The girl knelt down beside him. Why are you here? If the crest will take me home, why not you too? Miyako and the others miss you. She whispered softly.

I cant leave here. Ive been here too long to go now. It wont take me because it wasnt meant to. When you get back, tell Miyako I love her, and the others I wish we had had another day together. He whispered, bowing his head. Take the crest, and leave me in peace. He whispered from behind his hair.

Kat was stunned by what Ken had said. *Stay here! He must go back!* Kat thought angrily. Im not leaving without you, Ichijouji. She whispered fiercely.

The man looked up, his pained eyes flashing. You will do as I say, Katrania. Now! His voice was slightly higher in volume, but not much.

Kat was frieghtened by the look in his eyes, but held her ground. Forget it! Im staying if youre staying! She threatened.

Footsteps fell in the hall. Kens eyes widened in fear. Its not safe. Go! He said, trying to keep his voice down. Kat shook her head, turning to the door. Katmon jumped down from her shoulder, changing into Sphinxmon in the air. The three faced the door.

The door banged open, revealing Demon. Kat gasped. Sphinxmon growled. Friends! Hah! You think they are going to help you, boy?! A champion and a girl! Hah! Flame Inferno! Demon shouted, aiming the attack at Kat and her Digimon.

There was no way either were going to escape the attack. So Kat did the first thing that came to mind. Sphinxmon! Digivolve! She shouted, holding out her D-3.

Sphinxmon, digivolve to... Angelkitymon! Heavens Claw! The Digimon cried, blasting Demons attack to pecies.

Kat ran to Ken. Where is the crest? She asked. Ken pulled it from around his neck, handing it to her. Before she took it she turned to the ultimate. Angelkitymon! She cried, holding out her hand. The Digimon grasped it at the same time Kat grabbed the crest, and Kens hand. The three disappeared together.

~Present Time~

The two older Destined were frantically searching for the missing girl. Where is she?! She couldnt of gone far! Miyako cried.

She didnt. Whispered a tired voice.

The two adults turned around to find Kat, Ken, and Katmon in a pile on the floor behind them. Ken was out, and beaten up pretty bad. Katmon was asleep, wore out too. Kat was the only one awake, and even she was tired. Ken? Miyako whispered, walking over to the group slowly.

Hai, its Ken. Just, let him sleep, he needs it. Kat whispered, trying to stand up, yet not succeding.

Miyako swept her up as Koushiro picked up Ken and Katmon. Youre tired, and need your rest. Well continue with this hall tomorrow. Okay? Kat nodded and fell asleep as she, Katmon, and Ken were borne off to their rooms.

~:~

A trickle of golden light fell on his face. Drac opened his eyes, slowly. He looked up at the open window, and wondered who had been in his room already to open the windows. *Maybe Kats up.* He thought as he got up and dressed. A knock came at the door. Whos there? Drac called out.

Its Daisuke! Mind if I come in? A voice called from the other side of the door.

Come on in! Drac called.

Daisuke walked in and closed the door. Were having a big breakfast in the dining room. Everyone is asked to attend. Dont ask me whats going on. Miyako and Koushiro put it together. Daisuke did a mock bow. Will thee be pleased to follow me? He asked good-humoredly.

Both laughed as Daisuke led the boy to the dining room.

~:~

Up! Katmon called in Kats ear.

Kat fluttered open her eyes. What?

You slept in. Katmon explained.

Yipe! I did! Shit! I gotta get up! Off! Kat cried to the Digimon on her stomach.

Get off the poor girl, Katmon. A male voice called from the door.

Kat looked up to find Ken at her door. He looked refreshed, not as weak or tired. Katmon hopped off Kats stomach. Good mornin, Ken! Kat called, stepping out of her bed.

Ken put a finger to his lips, a grin coming over his features. Shh. Were gonna surprise the others. Miyako and Koushiro have put a breakfast together. We have to be ready when they send for us. Ken waved his hand and started to close the door. Get ready. Hikari left a dress that should fit you on that chair. Come out when youre ready. He closed the door carefully.

Kat smiled as she picked up the dress. It was a green and blue mix, that matched her eyes, whatever color they were. Kat grinned as she changed into it. She hadnt really noticed what Ken was wearing, so hurried to find out. When she opened the door, she found Ken, in a dark blue/violet colored suit, of a sorts, waiting for her.

You look stunning. He said, grinning.

Kat smiled at the complement. Arigatou. You look nice too. Arent you glad I got you out now? She asked, a glint in her eyes.

Ken laughed. I guess. He frowned. But if I know Demon, and I do, hell come back for me. Ken sighed. But thats not what we should be thinking about right now. He smiled again. I was wondering, how did you three find out how to get to the caves? He asked.

Koushiro walked around the corner. Kat did it. She... I dont know how she did it. Koushiro sent a look at Kat.

Kat shrugged. I dont know how I knew either. Something just told me to check. She smiled. Im guessing its time to go. She added.

Koushiro smacked his head and led them along as the other two laughed.

~:~

*Wonder why all the secerecy. And I havent seen Miyako this happy since before Ken disappeared.* Hikari thought to herself. Takeru took her hand and smiled at her. *I feel so bad for Miyako. Im glad I still have Takeru.*

Laughing came from the hall and Koushiro, followed by Kat, walked in. Kat looked splended in the dress Hikari had left for her. Two somethings swung around her neck. *The Crest of Light and...* Hikari wondered to herself.

Kat! Whats with the dress? And whats that on your neck? Drac called out as Will ran up to meet the girl.

Kat smiled. The dress was lent to me by Hikari. She paused and bowed a Thank you. The things I have round my neck are the Crest of Light, and the Crest of... She paused. The other Digidestineds mouths hung open. They remembered what Dai had said bout two crests.

Oh. Gomen! Was that my cue? A dark haired man asked, coming into the hall.

KEN! A cry went up. The original Destined, who hadnt known he was there, ran over to him.

Kami-sama! Is it really you? Daisuke asked his friends and old Jogress partner.

Nai. Im Demon, pretending to be Ken. Ken laughed.

Daisuke glared at him. Not funny. I dont like being made fun of Ichijouji-san. He grumbled. The others laughed.

Whos that? Will asked Kat.

Kat smiled. Mind if I introduce ya, Ken? The girl asked the man.

Ken looked up. Nai. Youll mess it up.

Wanna bet. Kat grumbled.

Ken grinned. I heard that, Monstrie! He shouted at the girl. Then his face turned serious and he turned to the Digidestined. Im Ichijouji Ken. When were all done eating, I have something to show all of you. He smiled again. Which Kat so kindly found for me. He turned to glare at the girl, making the others laugh.

Last time I checked, there wasnt a sign that said dont touch the computer screen. She told him indignatly.

Ken mumbled something under his breath as they sat down to breakfast.

~A Millenium Ago~

Ill get you, Ichijouji! Your little brat Chosen Child too! You wont get away from me this time! An evil laugh filled the air.

Demon! Im coming with you this time! A voice yelled from a corner wrapped in darkness.

Demon bowed humbly to the being. Of course my Lord. He said.

The two evil beings from the past laughed.

______________________________________________________________________________

Its over! Not!! Its just, I ran out of room again, so Im breaking it into three parts! Since I missed a few things at the beginning, Ill do em here!

Disclaimer: (Damnit! I hate this part!) I DO NOT OWN DIGIMON!! I wish I did, but weve had this conversation! If I owned em, things would have been different! Any similarities to the characters in this fic and people in real life are merely coincidence. It aint my fault if someone you know sounds like, seems like, or has the same name as one of the characters! So dont blame me!

This story feeds off my original series, starting with Never Leave Me. (And ending with... I havent gotten that far yet! *giggles* You all will just have to wait! *evil laughing*) The names were meant to be the Japanese form for both the first part and the second part! I didnt have all the Japanese names when I wrote the first part, so part two is more correct in the Digimon names and attacks! Gomen! ^_^

Gtg work on part three! (Drat! This one is turning out to be as long as my others! *Grrr...*)
