I'll never understand why we split up and then ran into Chichos-san. She really liked Ken-san, and hated the idea of Hikari-san calling him 'Ken-chan.' She betrayed us and asked the man to shoot us.
He missed though. We got away and got to the power plant.
Ken-san and Hikari-san stayed outside while the rest of us went in. We got past every one of the detectors, only to find the system down.
The others had had the same problem, and no one could figure out how to fix the problem, although, Ken-san did figure that we could try and tap into the system.
It worked too! I got in and we told the others! I don't know whether they got in or not, all I know is that our mission was done.
Then, the computer decided it liked me and insisted I stay. I was faced with the decision of maybe never seeing my friends again, or saving all those people counting on us! Gods, I hate life changing decisions!
Digimon Watchers: The Last Adventure?
"Hush, Kat-chan. You'll see them again. We can do work from here and help your friends even more." Zivmon had de-evolved and was now back to Sphinxmon. She had been trying to calm me for the past hour. It wasn't working.
"Katrania. Get up, unless you want me to start calling you a big baby." The metallic voice of the computer told me.
I looked up at the camera it was using to study me with. "Shut up, dipstick." I told it angrily. "You're the reason I'm still here."
"And you could be helping your friends instead of crying like a three year old." It informed me coldly. Of course, it's voice had always sounded cold to me.
"What can I do?!" I shouted at it.
"You can contact the leaders of the Earth and inform them of why you are all here. Your friends would then have the advantage."
"Unless the leaders decide it's too bad if the other worlds are aging, they want earth to stay on it's own course, no help needed from Digidestined." I reminded it.
"It's worth a try."
I sighed. *The thing is right, Kat. It's worth a try.* I looked up at it and stood up. "Can you get it so I can look them right in the face?"
"I have many screens. Do you want to talk to all of them at once, or one at a time."
"All at once. I don't know where Yukio-sama was going to send each group next."
"Understood. Opening links to all leader's bases."
"Arigatou." I whispered to it as each face appeared on the screens. Sphinxmon jumped up on my shoulder. *I can't believe I'm doing this.* I looked at the computer. "Will they understand me?"
"They should. I've never done this before though."
"That's okay. I've never done this before either." I smiled.
"You are on, Kat."
I looked up at the many angry faces. "You are no doubt wondering why you are being contacted by me, a seventeen year old girl who has no understanding of what's going on right now. The truth, I know more than all of you put together. I am the one who learned what was going on. I am only contacting you because the Digidestined need to do their job, and all of you are only making it harder." I was rudely cut off by the American President.
"Young lady, do you know what you are doing?! Do you know who you are talking to?! Do you understand you could be killed for this?!"
"Sir, I understand only this, I am a Digidestined. It is my birth given duty to do whatever it takes to save the billions of worlds out there, all of which are aging beyond repair. I am Katrania Monstrie, the holder of the Crests of Light and Kindness and the Digimentals of Light, Life, and Kindness. I understand I could die right now for doing this, all I ask is that you give me a chance to explain myself before you start throwing nuclear bombs my way. I'll remind you of this now, I've had thousands of guns facing me and pointing at my vital systems. I've had Digimon bigger than you can imagine throwing attacks at me that are almost impossible to avoid. To save all those people counting on me out there, nothing will waver my will to survive and stay on that path I walk now.
"My brother and father are fighting for the same thing I am. I know I may never see them again. My mother is at home biting her nails, hoping we all come home. My best friend doesn't even know I'm gone, she may never. My friends, the Digidestined, are praying to survive this journey we are all on. We know time will be changed because of this. We know few of us will be here in the future. We know life is hanging in the balance, for all of us.
"Me, I don't want to die, to wake up every morning knowing this may be my last. I want to live a long life and die an old lady, surrounded by family and friends. But I know I may never get that chance." I stopped to take a breath. Then I went on. "My friends and I have learned something. The other worlds out there are aging, faster than they should be. This world, our world, is aging backwards. If we can get this world far enough back in time, we can stop this from ever happening. We may not be here in the new future we are building, but we understand we will be helping those others that are.
"We need the energy from as many power plants as possible. In doing that, we should be able to slow down the other worlds' aging and speed up this one's. In doing that, the other worlds won't be destroyed before we finish our work of reseting the future. You see, if the other worlds go, so does this one. One world destroyed, destroys all the others. We need your help if we are going to accomplish this. It would help mostly if you put the power plants back up and running. If we don't have your help..." I shrugged. "We'll do it our way."
I sighed. "I ask for your help. I asked for your lifes. I ask that you give up everything for those you've never met, and I doubt you ever will. My friends, my family are out there, doing everything in their power to ensure a future for you lazy bunch of asses. All we ask of you is a little help to get the job done. That is all we ask." I bowed my head and waited for a response.
"Young lady," The President again. "that was a very touching speech, but I would like to meet one person from one of these worlds you speak of before I help you."
"I'm afraid I have none with me, sir. But," I turned to the computer. "if my friend here will help me contact one of them, I can have one here."
"You may bring one of your friends, Kat, but remember our deal." The computer warned.
"I know! I know! Let me get Yukio-sama!" I pulled out my D-terminal and contacted the council of beings.
Yukio-sama,
I waited a few seconds, then got my response.
Katrania-kun,
I sighed and worked on a response.
"What's taking so long?!" One of the leaders demanded.
"It takes time to confer when you are in different worlds!" I shouted at him as I started typing.
Yukio-sama,
I could only hope now.
Then I got my response.
Kat-kun
I smiled as the leader of the World of Life appeared before me. She resembled Zivmon well. The only difference was she was wearing a green robe and dress and her wings were a soft pink color, almost like a rose petal. "I am Seibutsu, the Leader of the World of Life. Katrania-kun called on me to ask for your help, though I know not why. She is the best young woman for this job. None could do it better, or so I'm guessing by the fact that she still lives, and this building still stands." I smiled as the leaders discussed with their aids.
The result was perfect, for us. Only one person decided 'no,' and he changed his mind when he heard what the others had to say. We had our chance. Seibutsu left with the promise of telling the others the outcome. All I could do was believe what everyone said.
But at that very moment, all I wanted was sleep. I turned off the computer and Sphinxmon and I lay down to sleep. *I'm just glad I could help.* I thought as I drifted off to sleep.

"Time to get up, Kat." The computer called.
I groaned and opened my eyes. I was sleeping on a small cot meant for whoever was working at the station at the time. "This thing is not comfortable at all. You try sleeping on it."
"I can't, Kat. I am a computer. I don't sleep."
"Yeah, ya just need me to turn you off."
"Correct."
"Why couldn't I be stuck with a computer that jokes?" I grumbled as I walked over to the bathroom.
"Do you want me to joke?"
"Sometimes, I wish ya could."
"Knock, knock."
"And we need to teach you the right time to do so."
"Bad time?"
"Hai, bad time."
"Oh. Sphinxmon is out getting you both food. She should be back soon."
"Good. I'm hungry."
"That is something only humans feel, right?"
"Hai. I was wondering if you can do something for me."
"Like what?"
"I never knew the rest of my family. I always wondered what they were like. Can you find them for me?"
"I can try. Monstrie isn't a very regular name."
"Good. Arigatou." Sphinxmon came in with the food then. "Food! Give that to me!"
"Geez. Take some. You sure you're still Kat-chan?" Sphinxmon joked.
I laughed. "I'm not Kat-chan, I'm a hungry human who hasn't eaten since yesterday morning!" I called to her, stuffing my face with blueberries. "I can't believe you found blueberries around here! I love blueberries!"
"Nai. You love anything you can get your paws on." Sphinxmon grumbled.
"Funny." I mumbled through a mouthful of food.
"Kat, I think you should look at this!" The computer cried.
I jumped up to look at it's screen. "Show me."
"It'll be hard to show you, but I can tell you."
"Then do so."
"The name Monstrie doesn't exist."
"WHAT??!!" I shouted in surprise. "How is that possible?"
"Your father may have changed his last name when you were born. Do you know your mother's madien name?"
"Nai. I never tried to learn it."
"Call your father. He may be able to explain this to you."
"Yeah!" I sat down and started typing on my D-terminal.
Dad,
"All we can do now is wait." I told the other two.

About ten minutes later, he wrote back.
Kat,
"I got it!"
"Spell it out for me."
"M-o-n-r-a-s-t-r-i-e."
"Searching." A pause. "Found a James Monrastrie, no doubt your father. A Herbie Monrastrie, your grandfather, and a Catherine Monrastrie, your grandmother."
"I must have gotten my name from her, then. Catherine, Katrania. They're enough alike, and they mean the same thing."
"What do they mean?"
"They both mean 'pure.' "
"A good meaning. Do you wish me to contact them?"
"Hai, if you can hide our signal."
"Of course, but why you wish that, I know not."
"My father says he and my grandparents don't get along too well."
"Good reason. Contacting them now. Middle screen."
I looked up at the screen and saw a very pretty old lady and a handsome old man watching me. "Hello." I whispered, once again speechless.
"You're the girl who was on the news. The Digidestined, Katrania Monstrie. Why would you be calling our home?" The woman asked.
"Do you have a son, James? He disappeared some time ago."
"Yes. We are still mad at him for marrying that Atrai woman. Why would you care anyway?" The man asked me.
"I am James and Atrai's daughter, making me your grandaughter."
There was silence. Then, "My grandaughter is a Digidestined?!" My grandmother cried.
"Hai. As are your son and grandson, Dracel."
"Oh my God. This can't be true." The woman said, sitting down, hard.
"It's true." I said quietly.
"Then why didn't you contact us before young lady?" My grandfather asked.
"I didn't know of you. Dad doesn't seem to trust you too well." I explained.
"Oh. I see." My grandfather sighed. "You are a very brave girl, Katrania."
"Arigatou, grandpa. But please, call me Kat. It's my nickname."
"Oh. Of course. Kat..." He trailed off.
My grandmother stood up. "Is time really going backwards?"
"Yes. It is."
"Is that why you contacted us?"
"Yes and no. I've always wanted to meet you, but I was never able to. Then dad and mom got a divorce when I was about five..." I started when my grandfather cut me off.
"I told him she wasn't to be trusted, that damned Atrai woman..." He growled, making me mad.
So I cut him off. "Do not say that about my mother, grandpa! If you all hadn't have gotten into a fight over mom, you would have known about everything that had happened!" I glared the two adults into silence. "And I was about to say, mom and dad got remarried. The divorce was over a misunderstanding concerning the Digital World. The whole thing is in the past now. I also called you because there is nothing to do when you are stuck in this kuso lab!" I shouted at them. Then I went and sat on my bed to calm down.
Sphinxmon walked over to them. "She's a little pissed 'cause the computer here wants us to stay. She's an action girl. She would rather have a gun pointed at her chest right now then be sitting here doing nothing." She explained.
The two adults nodded. "Tell her to have her father and brother contact us. It would be nice to talk to them." Grandma said and the screen went blank.
"I can't believe I ruined it like that!" I shouted and banged my head on the wall a few times.
Sphinxmon sighed. "Kat-chan, it's not your fault."
"Yes, it is. And I am so bored!! There is nothing to do around here!!"
"I am very sorry, Kat. Is there something I can do about that?" The computer asked.
"Nai."
"I am sorry, Kat."
"Come up with a name for yourself. That will help me some."
"How will that help you?"
"It will feel like I'm actually talking to a human if you have a name I can call you by, other than 'computer.'"
"Oh. I will work on it."
"Good. I'm going to e-mail dad and Drac-chan. Then I'm taking a nap."
"Please turn me off first."
"Sure." I got up and turned it off. Then I got out my D-terminal and e-mailed my brother and father. When I was done I went to sleep, Sphinxmon curled up beside me.
