Will-chan, Sphinxmon-chan, Groulmon-san, Ken-san, Maho-san, Magicamon-san, Hikari-san, and I traveled to Mexico! We are helping to get the energy, and the other, original, Digidestined have to help the new ones! Plus, Taichi and Yamato's kids are helping!
We are all spread out after a short reunion in the Digital World. We ran into an old friend of Ken-san's and they started talking. I got mad and yelled at them. Then I went off on my own.
Only to find a gun at my chest!

Part Five

*I don't wanna die. I don't wanna die. I don't wanna die.* That's what was going through my head as I stared at the gun at my chest. The gun that could end my life right there and then. It basically scared the pee out of me when the man stepped from the bushes. Now I was praying for forgiveness from my family and friends and begging that that gun not go off.

"Any of you move any closer, your little girl here gets it." He threatened. I almost laughed! He thought we were a family or something!

"Excuse me sir, but, I gots ta' go pee." I whined. You get good at whining when all your mom and brother want from you is a smile!

"Forget it kid!" He yelled at me, watching the others. He wasn't really paying attention to me. I mean, I know I'm kinda short for my age and all, but he should have been keeping an eye on me! So I took the chance. I ducked under the gun and rammed into his stomach, getting an 'umph' out of him. Then I got behind him as quickly as I could. I giggled at the cheers from my friends and the curses from him as I rushed into the bushes he had come out of. I came out behind the others.

Will ran over to me and hugged me tightly. "Don't do that, Kat-chan." He said quietly. I could tell he had been crying.

I felt myself begin to cry. "I won't, Will-chan. I won't."

"Good. Chichos-san, go for it!" I heard Ken say. I looked up to see Chichos walking towards the man, speaking Spanish to him the whole time. His gun didn't waver from her chest.

"It doesn't seem to be working, Ken-chan!" Hikari warned. I saw Chichos stiffen when Hikari said 'Ken-chan.' *I don't think she likes Hikari calling him that!*

I looked over at Sphinxmon. "We're gonna need you I think."

Sphinxmon nodded. "Zivmon should help most." I nodded and held out my D-3 as Chichos shouted something that made Ken go pale.

"Everyone out of the road!" He shouted as Chichos moved out of the path of the gun.

"Digi Armor Energize!" I screamed as the gun went off and we rolled to the side of the road. "Sphinxmon, armor evolve to... Zivmon, Forever Living!"

I saw Will hold out his D-3 as Zivmon and I greeted each other. "Digi Armor Energize!"

"Groulmon, armor evolve to... Subamon, The Prism Angel!" Our Digimon picked us up and flew us to the sky, above the road. We caught everyones' eye. The two angels flying in the sky would surprise anyone, especially if one looks like an evil angel and they are holding humans.

I felt a draft of air as Gran Kwagamon and Holy Dramon joined us in the air. Wizardmon and Maho followed them. We turned to the factory and flew, the two on the ground throwing Spanish curse words after us. "Well done, both of you." Maho said as we flew out of rang of the curses.

"Arigatou. You did a good job too, Maho-sama." I replied.

She laughed. "Nai. If I had been thinking, I would have had Magicamon armor evolve."

"We were all busy." I told her.

"Of course. You're right. How did you get around that man?! I would have died if I had a gun pointed at me!" She exclaimed.

I grinned as the others turned to look at me. "I saw he was paying more attention to you then to me, so I went for it. If it makes ya feel any better, I was scared to death! But ya know, I kept remembering all those worlds counting on me and forgot about my fear."

"Kat-chan is just really brave." Will said happily.

We all laughed. "I'll be what ever you want, okay, Will-chan?"

He nodded. "Okay, Digital Mommy!" We all burst out laughing.

"I see it!" Wizardmon cried. He pointed to a lone building in the forest. We nodded and flew towards it in silence.

When we reached it our Digimon landed and Ken and Hikari traded with their Digimon again. Zivmon folded her wings back into her robe, ending up looking more like a human adult. I smiled at her as the other two Digimon de-evolved, they were less noticable as rookies. Will, Maho, myself, and our Digimon walked into the building alone, Hikari and Ken were to come in after us if something happened. They were also supposed to watch for our ride to the next world.

We walked the halls quietly. We were unseen, unless a camera was watching us, and Zivmon had yet to report any of those. Zivmon suddenly put up a hand, stopping us from going ahead. I sent her a questioning look. "Security beams. Movement, heat, and light sensitive. I can fly you all over it and the Digimon can go under it. It will take time though." She explained. I nodded and the others let their Digimon go. Zivmon picked up Will and flew him over it. I didn't realize how long it was until both my Digimon and my friend disappeared into the gloom on the other side.

Zivmon came back and took Maho, then me. We made it past, without setting it off, and continued on our way. When we got to the control room, it was dark. Turned off, as if it hadn't been used it years. We sighed in defeat. Then my D-terminal beeped. I opened it and read it.

We found the place looking like a dead zone. Koushiro has decided that it must be that all the nations have decided that they need to make it seem as if the power stations are shut off. They don't understand what's at stake and don't want us taking anymore energy. Whoever can find a way to get the energy when it is shut off, let us know. We all need ideas.

I looked up at my friends and explained what James had said. "E-mail Ken-san. See if they got the e-mail, or if they have an idea." Magicamon said in her tiny voice. I nodded and typed the e-mail.

Ken and Hikari,
Did you get the e-mail from James? We are having the same problem as they are! If you two can come up with a way, e-mail me back!

I watched the faces around me as we waited for an answer. Then one came.

Kat-san and the rest of you guys,
Hai, we got the e-mail. It's tragic. We, like Koushiro-chan, can't come up with anything. It's up to the rest of you. If one of you can't tap into their system... Try it and see.

"They say they got the e-mail, but can't figure anything out. They want us to see if we can tap into their system. Can anyone here do anything like that?" I said.

Maho shook her head. "I never was able to understand computers in my time. They've no doubt changed by now." I nodded and looked at Will.

"You know my parents don't like computers and refuse to have one, Kat-chan. I don't get 'em!" He cried.

I sighed and looked at each of the Digimon, each of which shook their heads. "I guess it's up to me." I grumbled and walked over to where I could just barely make out a computer station. I looked at Will. "Tell the others to try breaking the access codes." He nodded and I turned back to the computer.

I turned it on and tried various codes, things like; Spanish, and Mexico. When none of those more obvious codes worked, I tried one that wasn't as obvious: Digidestined. " You have accessed this control station. Well done." The computer told me as the lights flared on.

"Turn down the lights and tell us the code so we can inform the others!" Maho cried.

I found the lights switch and turned down the lights. Then I walked over to my friends. "It was 'Digidestined.'" I told them.

"The least obvious code. We wouldn't have tried that code first. Well done, Kat-san." Maho praised me. I smiled and walked back to the screen.

"Is there a way to get you to draw energy from yourself? We need it." I told the machine. Lots of more important machines today reacted to a voice.

I was right. "It is in the little container to your right." I picked up the container.

"Thank you. What is the fastest, safest way to the front entrance?"

"The way you all came in." *Smart machine.* "Okay... Will you deactivate the sensors for us and turn them back on once we have left the building?"

"Can you turn me off from outside?"

"Funny. I don't know, can I?" I laughed.

"No. Only from inside."

I sighed. "Okay... Will you let my friends out? I'll stay behind and deactivate you when they are through."

"How do you plan to get out?"

"You're a smart one. I'll go out with Zivmon."

"Agreed, for them. You must stay."

"WHAT??!!"

"They may go. You must stay."

"Why?"

"You are a useful human. I will need you to keep me working when the time has sped up beyond my time."

"I-I can't. My friends... They'll need my help."

"You will be safe here. The time change will not affect you. Zivmon may also stay. You can still help your friends by getting them through the computer codes. I will let you go after that. I will not let your friends go until you have agreed to this. If you do not agree to this, I will destroy this place, as well as your two friends outside the building."

"I-I-I-I..." I didn't know what to say! Stay, or die. Those were my choices! "May I discuss this with my friends?"

"I think that can be arranged."

"Arigatou." I whispered to it. Then I walked over to my friends. "If this mission is to succed, I must stay here. If I don't, we all die, even Ken-san and Hikari-san."

"But, you can't go, Kat-chan! I won't let you!" Will cried and buried his face in my shirt.

I felt myself crying again. "I'm not leaving, little Will-chan, just staying here. I'll still e-mail you guys. I'll no doubt be more help here anyway."

"Why do you say that, Kat-san?" Maho asked.

"I lost my temper back there and put all of us in danger. I wouldn't still be smacking myself over that, if I knew why I lost my temper. Tell Ken-san and Hikari-san 'Konnichi wa' for me and take this back to the next world. Arigatou! Go before the computer decides not to let you go!" I pushed the bottle into their hands and pushed them down the hall. Then I walked back to the computer to watch them walk outside. "Arigatou, for letting them go."

" 'Arigatou' means 'thank you' right?"

"Hai."

"And 'hai' means 'yes?' "

"Exactally!"

"I think we'll get together just fine!"

"Whatever." I mumbled as I watched my friends meet up and sadly go through the portal. "Sayonara, Digidestined. I wish you luck." I said quietly, then burst out crying and scrunched myself into a ball on the floor.
