Six survived Demon's attack. Demon has now killed two. Four are alive, alone. One faces danger in the Digital World. One travels between them. One gains Pokemon, and unite enemies. The last has the way to bring others back. But Demon has plans, greater yet.
Kat groaned as she looked around the room. Amerigo was curled up in her lap, sleeping peacefully. Jon was in the kitchen with Sapph and Kitty. Adalia was sleeping in a large comfortable chair she had stolen when Jon had gotten up. Genny and Kyle were whispering quietly to one another. Digimon wandered around or slept in their partner's lap. Catmon and Katmon were not to be seen. Kat guessed they were in the kitchen. Plotmon was sitting before a warm fire, her face pained.
Kat moved Amerigo quietly and went over to Plotmon. "Hey." She whispered. "Mind if I sit?"
Plotmon shook her head, so Kat sat next to her. They watched the dancing flames for a few moments.
Then Kat spoke up. "She'll come back, Plotmon-chan. You don't need to worry about that. She'll be just fine."
"I'm not sure..." Plotmon trailed off as Kat placed her hand on the Digimon's soft fur.
"Well I am. Rou will protect her." Kat's eyes got a dreamy look. "I know he will. I believe in him and that nut of a sister I have."
Plotmon cracked a small smile. "Yeah, you're probably right. They'll keep her out of trouble."
Kat sat back against Adalia's chair. "I wonder how the others are doing."
Plotmon blinked and looked at Kat. "Can't you ask Mel-chan?"
Kat groaned. "Remember earlier, when..." She found herself at a lost for words.
Plotmon knew, though. "When he tried to use you as a way to get to Mel-chan."
Kat nodded. She had scared everyone when, out of the blue, in the middle of breakfast, she stood from the table and screamed in pain. She shivered at the memory. "I think Dea might have put a block of some sort between us, so Demon can't do that again." She gingerly touched the slash on her right cheek, a reminder of the seriousness of the Crest of Darkness, and what it has the ability to do.
"Does that thing still hurt?" Jon asked from behind her. He, Sapph, and Kitty had come out with chips and dip and a few other things.
Kat pulled herself to her feet. "It'll always hurt, Jon-kun. Ignore it. No modern remidies will heal it."
Jon shrugged. "But it's not as bad as before, right?"
Kat gave him a smile. "Nope. Much better!" She looked at the food on the table and the others gobbling it down. "Don't you have any healthy food in this house, Jon-kun?" She grumbled.
"Sorry. I can't find anything."
Demi Imperial Dramon grinned, food hanging from a corner of his mouth. "What, did Taichi and Yamato eat it all?"
Kat gave the Digimon an odd look as Jon shot him a glare, a blush rising on his face. "Shut up!" He hissed.
Kat grinned as she sat at the table. "Hey, Jon-kun?"
"Huh?" Jon already had food in his mouth. The others were snickering.
"Are there any churchs around here?"
"Chushs?" Jon asked, his mouth full. He swallowed quickly as the others began laughing again. "Ah, I know of a few. Why?" He threw a chip in his mouth.
"I think we ought to go to church tomorrow." Kat said thoughtfully.
Jon spat out his chip in surprise. It landed on Adalia's face. "Wha..."
"JON!!!" Adalia screamed at him, wiping the chip off her face with some napkins one of the girls had thought to bring out.
"Oh shit..." Jon mumbled, standing up and running down the hall as Adalia chased him. The humans and Digimon at the table laughed at them.
"I think we'll stop at the groccrey store while we're out tomorrow." Kat said softly, throwing a chip in her mouth and still smiling.
~~Sunday; Michigan~~
"This is such a nice church." Kat mumbled as the group, Digimon included, picked a row in the back.
Jon shrugged. "It's a church. So what."
Adalia shot him a look. "You're just an idiot." She grumbled. She hadn't really gotten over the chip from yesterday yet.
Jon groaned but kept his mouth closed. Kitty sighed. "Adalia, can't you get over it. The chip was an accident."
"One should always forgive." Said a soft voice behind them. They all turned to see the pastor. "Jon, did you bring some new friends?" He asked the young man who came from time to time to the little church.
"More like Kat-san dragged him here." Amerigo laughed.
Kat shook her head. "Nai, Amerigo-kun. I asked him to bring us."
Amerigo grinned. "Sure. Whatever."
"Amerigo." Amerigo looked at Kitty. "Stop it. If Kat-san says Jon-san led us, than Jon-san led us."
Amerigo sighed. "Okay, Kitty." Katmon hopped into his lap next to Amerikamon and purred quietly. Amerigo hugged her.
The pastor smiled outwardly, but inwardly he was frowning. *Who are those kids? The girl, Kat-san?, seems to be the leader of them all... Weird. Jon looks older than her. How did he run into them?* He sighed to himself as he took his place at the front.
The people quieted. "Good morning all. Do we have any people praying with us for the first time?" The group in the back stood. Jon was smiling. "Well, what are your names, and where are you from?"
Kat looked at the others, nodding with her eyes to introduce themselves as the pastor said. Amerigo smiled and went first. "Amerigo Leopold, Washington, D.C."
"Adalia Flores, D.C."
"Sapphire Knight, Washington."
"Caitlyn Sakura, Australia." That one was interesting.
"Genevieve Lotinque, D.C."
"Kyle Ransey, D.C."
"Katrania Monrastie." They all sat.
The pastor blinked. He would have to ask young Katrania where she was from after the service.
Despite being in the back row, Jon and his friends were the very last to leave. The pastor stopped them at the door. The little beasts he'd thought were toys, maybe a few pets, were all walking or riding on a human. "Cute pets. Do they bite?" He asked, knelling down next to the white and black cats, both of which seemed to belong to Kat. She also had a tan colored puppy, which she held in her arms.
"They'd better not." Kat said softly, throwing the animals a look.
The two cats purred as he ruffled their fur. "Do any of these guys have names?" He asked quietly.
Kat cocked her head. "Those two are Katmon and Catmon. This little one here is named Plotmon." She looked at the others.
Amerigo smiled. "This is Amerikamon. Isn't he so cute!" The pastor smiled and nodded, giving Americamon a pat on the head.
"This is Floramon." Adalia said happily, introducing a large plant. The pastor blinked, but patted the thing on the head anyway. He noticed Kat watching him warily.
"This here is Keramon." Sapphire said. Keramon was a little weird looking, but he patted it too.
"This is Butterflymon!" Caitlyn, or Kitty as she was called earlier, said happily, holding forward her big butterfly. The pastor smiled as he looked carefully at it's colorful wings.
Genevieve grinned. "Ongamon." The pastor ignored the weird looks.
"And this is Candmon." Kyle said softly. A large floating candle was what he pointed to. Candmon wouldn't come near the pastor. Kat didn't try to inforce it.
"And this is Demi Imperial Dramon. I believe I brought him once before." Jon said, smiling. The pastor groaned as he remembered that little accident.
Suddenly the pastor met eyes with Kat, who was still studying him closely. The two cats were on her shoulders. "Where are you from, Katrania?" The pastor asked.
Kat blinked. "I-I'm not sure anymore..." She looked down at Plotmon sadly.
"Are any of you hungry? I have food in my office. We can talk in there." The pastor offered.
"Sure!" Amerigo answered immediatly.
"Amerigo!" Sapphire cried.
"It's okay." Kat mumbled. She smiled at the pastor. "Having lunch must be better than chips and dip at Jon's house."
Jon made a face. "It's not my fault! I wasn't expecting you all to drop in on me!"
"And the only thing you eat when you don't have guests is chips and dip." Genevieve grumbled.
"Not tru-"
"Cool it you two. Please don't fight." Kat mumbled. They stopped. Oh yeah, Kat was the one in charge.
They followed him to his office and sat in chairs he pointed to. The little pet things ate what he gave them. Most of the other humans ate quickly too. Kat ate only one or two few things.
"I'll ask you again, Katrania, where are you from?" The pastor asked.
Kat looked him in the eye. "You wouldn't believe me you if I told you."
The pastor smiled. "Try me."
"Another world." One of the two cats said.
"Two different world, baka." The other cat said.
The pastor blinked. "They..."
"Talked?" Plotmon asked, smiling.
The others, humans and beasts alike, laughed. "They do that from time to time." Kyle said with a bright grin.
"Humor is an idiot." Genevieve commented quietly. Klye through her a look as the others laughed again.
"Of course he is." A bored voice drawled from behind them.
They turned around. The boy they found themselves looking at had black hair that was tied back and blood red eyes. His pants were black and his shirt blood red. A broadsword in a scabard hung on his back. He wore a belt around his middle with a knife hanging on it. A Demi Devimon sat on his shoulder. He was watching Kat.
Kat stood, noticing the sign on his belt almost immeadiatly. "Malevolence. Teivel was the name, I believe."
The boy bowed quietly. "And a horrid day to you as well, Digikid Katrania." He whispered.
"You're out numbered, Teivel." Kat warned.
"I know that."
"Excuse me! Kat is this a friend of yours?" The pastor asked.
"No." Teivel smiled evily. "I'm here to kill her."
"Exactly." Kat agreed.
"What?!" The others cried. Even Katmon and Catmon were surprised.
"Demon sent him. There are six. They are called the Dark Digikids. Their job is to each kill one of us. Their main target, of course, is me."
"You are Lord Demon's favorite." Teivel agreed.
"No. Mel is Demon's favorite. Mel's dead, so now I'm his favorite." Kat corrected him.
"I apologize, then."
Kat nodded. "Just, if you're going to kill me, do it outside the church." She said dryly.
"I'm guessing you know how Mel died?"
"Of course I do. Demon informed me. Not like he needed to. That would be his way of doing things. I'm almost surprised he didn't keep Mel alive."
"She wouldn't let him do that."
"I know. She killed herself. Dumb crest." Kat shook her head carefully, eyes never leaving his.
"Didn't she destroy Death?"
"Of course. Didn't make a difference though. She's my sister after all. In a way, she still had the crest."
"Kat-san." Amerigo mumbled.
"What?"
"Why are you having a nice chat with your enemy?"
"Because it's better than us going at one another's throats, don't you think."
"Oh. Yeah, I guess so."
"Akiuro is following Karai now." Teivel mumbled.
"Karai's almost done. You'll still be out numbered."
"You won't let them fight."
"Of course not."
"That's what I thought."
"That won't stop the others from helping though."
"The others?"
"The original twelve, and some of my friends."
"You bitch!" Teivel suddenly realized what had happened.
Kat became Karai. "We've got a whole gang now. You've got the wrong girl!" Karai laughed. Katmon and Catmon stepped away.
"Shit!" Teivel shouted. He pulled out his sword. "I'll kill you anyway!"
Karai didn't move as he ran at her, sword aimed at her heart.
