A flag flew through the sky. A little boy held it, tears running down his face. The Pentagon lay behind him, a gaping hole in it's side. The boy had lost his parents in that explosion, and was now living with his grandparents. He would do anything to get back at those who did this. He felt the pain of his nation.
"Amerigo! Time to go! We're going to be late!" His grandmother called. The flag fell from the sky as the boy trudged to the car. "Get in. You know we can't stay here. If they drop a bomb, it'll be here."
"But grandma, I don't want to leave. I need to stay." Amerigo cried.
"When grandma says get in, you get in." His grandfather said.
"Yes, sir." Amerigo mumbled, getting into the car.
As they drove down the highway, the boy held his flag out the window. A sudden wind wooshed the flag from his hand, carrying down the road as the boy cried out in agony. The car didn't stop. The boy decided to go back and get it at the next stop. His parents gave him that flag. He would get it back.
A flag flew into the hands of an angel standing in the middle of the road, the cars flying around her. She hugged the flag to her breast and followed the car at a distance. Her boy was in that flag, and she had a message to give him.
His grandparents were in the restroom at the rest stop. The boy was walking across the parking lot, back to the highway. His flag was on his mind, and his mind had decided to get it back. As he reached the woods a woman appeared before him. She wore pure white and had wings. She held his flag.
"My flag!" He cried happily. "Where was it?"
The woman had tears in her eyes as she handed the boy his gift. "Listen to me, Amerigo Levi Leopold. I need your attention." The boy looked up. "Another is to come to you tonight, go with him where ever he says. Understand?"
"Yes mammy. I understand."
"Good. Now, behave for your grandparents."
"Okay mammy. I love you."
"I love you too, baby." She disappeared.
"Good-bye mammy. I love you more than anything." The boy whispered, holding the flag to his chest and crying into it as he walked back to the car.
When they reached the hotel that night, Amerigo got his own room. He sat on his bed, waiting for his mammy's friend.
A white light shimmered in the corner of the room and his pappy appeared there. "Come, Amerigo. I've something to show you." He said, holding out his hand.
Amerigo grabbed that hand and found himself watching a battle between six humans who looked like thay were adults. Six monster stood before them, fighting another human. As one monster was sent backwards it ran into a human, sending both of them into the wall, the monster changing back to a smaller size. Both got up, the monster changing back to a bigger form. The monster they all battled said some words, filling the room with a black light. When the light was gone, the evil one stood. The other lay, dead.
Amerigo felt himself crying. He turned to his father. "What is this, pappy?"
"I will show you more." His pappy said.
Suddenly they were in a cave-like room. The six humans and their monsters were floting in the air. The evil one was with them. He spoke his words and the room filled with black light. When the light was gone, the ones in the air were gone. The people that had been standing on the ground before were all dead.
Amerigo cried more. Again he turned to his pappy and asked. "What is this, pappy?"
"I will show you more." Came the reply.
"Pappy?" The boy tried as they found themselves at a new scene. A huge cave with all of the humans, younger, stood with their monsters. More monsters that didn't belong to anyone flew around. The evil Digimon and more like him were battling the human's monsters. One of the monsters held it's human on it's back. Then the evil one said it's words, sending all but the one with the human on it's back into the wall. The last one said something and hit the ground. The bright light it had aimed at the evil ones went wild and the humans sighed in hopelessness.
Then four holy monsters appeared out of nowhere. They destroyed the evil ones and sent the humans somewhere. The place they were in became silent. Amerigo turned once again to his pappy. "What is this? Why are you showing me such pain, pappy?"
His pappy turned to him, tears in his eyes. "This world needs help. You can't do anything about our world, but you can help this one."
"How?"
"A girl lives in our world. She looks for help. You will help her. I will send you there and give an excuse to your grandparents."
"But these human fighters, aren't they dead?"
"Six survived and they split up. The evil one has killed many, and these six are the only ones who know his defeat."
"What do you mean?"
"Only they can defeat them, but they'll need help. You need to help them."
Amerigo nodded. "I won't let you down, pappy. I'll help in any way I can."
"Good. Let's get you set up."
"Set up to get revenge for six who know pain better than I. I must help them." The boy mumbled as the room faded away.

This one doesn't really have a name. It fits in with the Watchers series, but it takes place in our world, showing this time of pain. A boy lost his parents in the plane crash, and wants to help fight back, but he's too young to help much. When the story of a group of children from another world comes to him and he learns he can at least help them, he gladly does all in his power to do so. Amerigo won't appear until later in the series, but he'll come along. Consider this an idea of what it's like to live in VA and to drive past the hole in the Pentagon. It's frightening, trust me.
You could say this is a preface into the future of Digimon Watchers if you want. I think of this as a way to explain the pain those of us who live here are going through, whether we lost someone or not. I feel that pain everytime I go to the bus stop in the morning and pick up a paper. I feel that pain as we travel places and all you see is flags and ribbons. I feel that pain listening to my radio and watching the news. It's all around us, and I don't think it will ever go away.
God bless America, and those who support our fight for freedom...
