Chaos Card Captor Sakura is a Card Captor Sakura fanfiction. The setting is in between the Final Judgment and Eriol's arrival in Tomoeda in Season 3, so Sakura has all the Clow Cards, and they're still Clow Cards right now. Not like the Clow Cards matter though...
The story is about Clow Reed's brother, who became well-known as Kaos Gin, or simply "Kaos" for short. The exact details on what Kaos did is mostly unknown, but it is known that he created the Kaos Cards, a rival set of cards to Clow Reed's own Clow Cards. The original set comprised of 8 Kaos Cards in total, but what the Kaos Cards lacked in numbers, they made up for with incredibly strong magic powers. Which made their demises all the more tragic and horrifying. Kaos' cards, were intended to be used for good, but they got loose and mutated into twisted, malicious monstrosities, caring not for their original purpose. Again, the exact details are fuzzy and mostly forgotten throughout history, but of what little is known, Clow Reed fought, defeated, and sealed away the Kaos Cards. Flash forward nearly 2 centuries and the Kaos Cards have reappeared once again, but this time in Tomoeda, the home town of Kinomoto Sakura, our heroine. She and Syaoran, her "good friend" and rival magician, take it upon themselves to find these Kaos Cards and seal them back. New incantations, darker magic, and more sinister forces than they've ever faced will await them in their quest. Just as before, the Kaos Cards care not for others in their rampages. And Sakura's and Syaoran's only hope of success is to embrace the darkness within themselves. For without that, they are doomed. Despair, Destruction, and Hitzusen itself are intertwined in this dark supernatural twist on a classic mahou shoujo favorite, as Sakura and Syaoran combat and seal the Kaos Cards, all the while slowly putting the pieces of the historical puzzle together.
