Types of Dragons

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons
for you are crunchy,
and taste good with ketchup.

Eastern Dragons: Dragons have been a part of Chinese literature since 2700 BC. The Chinese Dragon, or Lung, lays their eggs on the bank of the river. It took 1000 years to hatch. When the first crack appears the parents cry out creating a huge thunderstorm. It takes 1500 years for a Lung to grow to full size. Another 500 to grow horns and another 1000 to grow wings. There are many types of Lung, each having their own job.

Western Dragons: Western dragons first appeared in the Bible and in Greek mythology. But this type of dragon is most well known from medieval Europe. They are usually described as a large scaly beast with wings, horns and fiery breath. They held towns hostage and devoured virgins. A knight usually defeats them. The most famous example of this is Saint George. This idea seems to be a metaphor for good triumphing over evil.
