The mist was a wet and thick veil, and Vinca could not see Sterling. Suddenly the pair felt their fall slow, like they were connected to a parachute. The mist was suddenly lifted, and Vinca and Sterling landed gently on the soft ground. The mist hung above their heads like a cloud. There were no walls in the pit that surrounded them, just darkness. The only light in the place was a gray light from above the mists. A dark tunnel entrance then appeared in front of them. He, the creature, was waiting for them in front of the entrance. Without question, Vinca and Sterling followed, not knowing where they were going. They traveled for what seemed to be a long time. There was no light whatsoever. Their guide kept by their side to lead them down safely through the passageways, shoving rocks and debris out of the way with his thick paws. Finally, after what seemed like hours, they reached a glowing light, and it grew brighter as they approached. The light became luminous and blinding, and the travelers had to shield their eyes. Their eyes soon adjusted, only a sight to behold them. All around them was the sweet smell of lavender flowers and the beautiful music of a harp and singing voices that seemed to not come from any human being. The walls glittered like a million diamonds, and their feet sunk into the soft white sands than covered the ground. In the center of all this was a bright silver light, so magnificent and pure. Then the creature spoke, "Your most divine, I have at last found her, Vinca, of the planet, Mythopia." Vinca began to tremble, for she knew this being must be of some power. "Come forth, my child." The voice was gentle and warming enough to soothe Vinca's nervousness. Vinca stepped toward the light. "Do you know who I am? I am Luna, the Moon. I bring the light to the darkness with my brother, Solis, the Great Sun. You are on a mission to save your people from the darkness, which has befallen them. I have watched the creatures of your planet, Mythopia, and I grieve for their sufferings. Much of the human race is composed of greed and assumptions. They believe they can conquer all, and at the same time, they destroy everything in their path. I wish to aid you in your quest, but first you must fill your stomachs and rest after such a long day." Then she left, but her light was still present in the room. Immediately silver plates of food and goblets of drink appeared in front of Vinca and Sterling. Their guide watched them. Sterling stopped for a moment to ask him questions. "Um, sir, why don't you eat? Aren't you hungry? You've traveled just as much as us, if not more. Why don't you eat?" The creature gazed at him lazily and answered, "I'm an immortal. I don't need to eat." "Vinca's an immortal, right Vinca?" piped Sterling, chewing at the same time. "Vinca is an immortal of earth. She is composed of the elements of her land, which gives her the energy to live. She can die by the knife of a mortal, or die in the jaws of a wolf, but she cannot die of old age, for her heart lives in her forever. I'm an immortal of the Solis, of the Luna, of the Stella. I'm not made of any substance, only spirit from the one who created me, Luna. I cannot die, ever. I will live on after Mythopia and the planets after it. It brings me no happiness, but only sadness. Living forever is not a gift my children. It is the destruction to one's soul."
