It didn't seem to bother the other unicorns, so Vinca relaxed and laid down to rest as the soft drops tapped upon the meadow. Frolyk and Clover had run off, up to playing their tricks again. Suddenly there was a flash of hot light, and the air around the meadow became ablaze and smoky. Rapyd screamed a cry a warning. The herd of unicorns panicked, each dashing off in different directions, when finally Rapyd ordered all of them to meet at the western corner of the meadow. When the herd seemed to be all together there was suddenly a shrill cry. Not like any cry the unicorns had ever heard before. A human cry. "Lu Fencio!" And suddenly a strange glowing bubble surrounded the herd. They all screamed in distress, but there was nothing they could do. Pink pale-skinned creatures had surrounded the herd, their evil smiles and beady eyes greedily looked upon their captured prize. "What riches we will receive for such beautiful and innocent creatures," said one of the creatures conniving. "Yes, indeed these creatures are the most beautiful than we've ever captured," another sputtered. "Come on, let's get them to the Lord Futatto before we catch any attention. There's all sorts of monsters about this place who would love to make a snack of us," said another looking off towards the forest. And with that, the men threw ropes over the bubble and dragged it along a freshly made path of beaten grass. One of the pink creatures stood out above the others. He had a thick stringy brown beard and a fat nose that flared. His satiny blood red robe scuffed the ground. His black eyes stared hard into the distance as the troop of men and a solemn herd of unicorns entrapped in a bubble prodded along a path towards the Benivollar Desert, which is a forbidden land to all magical creatures. But one unicorn could only help but smile to herself. Hazel had seen her small meek daughter dash into the forest, seeking out a hiding place. Hazel felt assured that her daughter would be safe, if she knew what to do and where to go. But what Vinca's mother did not know was that Vinca would be facing a much greater journey than imaginable.
