One was dark green and notably larger than the other two. One was dark blue, and the smallest was a light yellow. They seemed puny and weak to him, since they were so much smaller and fragile-looking. They stared at Spoof as if he were some kind of freak. "What are you staring at?" he asked them angrily. "You look really weird. We've never seen a red dragon before." the dark green one said. Spoof's father, Pyros, was one of the last imperial dragons who had fought for the good king, Ithias, against the extinction of mythical animals. The imperial dragons were the largest that ever lived, with the golden ones being the biggest. Pyros, being one of the copper dragons, was one of the strongest and had the most endurance. Flamecatcher, Spoof's mother, was the last of the red dragons, who could fly the fastest. Spoof knew this, but didn't realize that he had inherited the best of each parents' traits. He was well-built and strong, he had a lot of endurance, and he could fly faster that any other dragon his age. The dark green dracling looked him over and asked, "What's your name? Why are you here? What do you want here? What kind of weird dragon are you?" Spoof replied with hurt dignity, "My name is Spoof. I am here, because I have no where else to be. I want nothing of you and I wish I had never found you." The dark green dracling laughed and said, "Feisty, aren't you? I'm Kynder. You don't have to be so uptight, you know. We won't bite your head off ... not that we could." She nodded to the dark blue dracling and said, "That's Safyr. He's ticklish behind his ears. And the yellow one is the little baby of the family. Her name is Tala. She's really shy towards strangers." Spoof watched as Safyr and Tala crept up behind Kynder to get a closer look at him. They peeked around their big sister and watched him with big eyes. Spoof suddenly felt very uncomfortable and snorted smoke. Kynder started and the two smaller draclings rushed into a cave not far away. Kynder glared at him and warned, "Don't scare them like that, or I'll have to get my mother out on you. Where are your parents, anyways? You're obviously older than me, but you're still a dracling." Spoof just watched her with a blank expression on his face. Kynder shook her head and muttered, "Not to bright, are we?" She turned and started walking to the cave where the two other draclings had fled, then she heard him say quietly, "They're dead." She turned to face Spoof again and looked at him questionably. She cocked her head to one side and saw buried pain emerging on his face. "They're all dead."
