She sat perched above the city, like a great black vulture, staring down at humanity. She was not human, no, not even close. Death, perhaps, or anguish. she certainly caused enough. The chill wind bit at her cheeks and tugged chin length black hair. She could smell popcorn, and blood. The former made her small, straight nose wrinkle, and the latter caused her nostrils to flare and her mouth to hang open slightly. She bent slightly, her slanted, doe brown eyes fluttering half shut, and then was gone. Presently there was a scream, and then silence. ~~~~~~~~ Alexandria Eldskamoch was pissed. Beyond pissed, she was furious. And beneath it all, was guilt. She was just a civilian after all, really, and it was none of her business-but when had that ever stopped her? Five people had died now, five- and the police were nowhere near finding it. This simply lowered her already dangerously low opinion of them, and didn't bode well for anyone who crossed her. Her lips were drawn back over her teeth dangerously, and her eyes were narrowed. Then she tripped. Alex whirled around-and all the fury left her in a rush as she realized she had tripped over a person. A non responding person. Who was covered in blood. Now, a normal person's first reaction would have been to run to the nearest phone and call the police. Alex, (note prior awful opinion of police) knelt beside them hurriedly, eyes searching for a sign of life. She tentatively poked them and was rewarded with a groan and twitch. Grimacing faintly, she knelt and managed to get the person's arm over her shoulder, slowly straightening with effort. |
