Code of Conduct
Back to Home
This Code has been developed by the youth in the Troop and applies to everyone equally. These rules have been established by all the youth, as peers, and not by adults or leaders. The role of Councellors will be to help maintain good conduct during all events based on the problems and suggested solutions listed hereafter. We hope the Code is only a matter of common sense for everyone in the Troop and that the severity of some punishments is not necessary, now that established and acceptable behaviour is an understood part of this written code.

General Issues

1. Talking: includes not listening, interrupting, foul-language

2. Misbehaving: includes annoying others, cheating, not respecting others, disturbing the horseshoe, threatening someone

3. Miscellaneous problem: includes no uniform, no book, not clean, hitting, biting, fighting

Suggested Solutions

1. Talking:
     First- 1 warning and 2 min. time-out
Second- Standing in corner (5 min.)
Third- Activity suspension (discretion of Leader)

2. Misbehaving:
     First- 1 warning, physical exercise (push-ups/berpies 20)
     Second- Activity suspension
     Third- meeting suspension

3. Misc. problem:
     First- 1 warning and 2 min. time-out
     Second- Activity suspension

Issues will be discussed as part of the Court of Honour, that meets regularly to refine and improve the Code. The Court is comprised of the Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders and acts on behalf of the Troop, and has the Troop's best interests in consideration.
