| Beautiful Steven (The Tick Character) I had purchased from a feeder bin in a pet store (yes... I broke my own rule) while visiting a friend in Maryland in March 2004. He was around 3-4 weeks old, and an absolute sweetheart. My brother, Anthony's mouse, Elfie, died recently, and he was devastated. The mouse was the last of the feeder babies, and lived 2 1/2 years. Quite well for a mouse who's siblings all suffered myco and tumors. He was fat, happy, and died in his sleep, curled up in his hammock. Anyway, This rat is to be Ant's birthday present on April 20th. He desperately wants a rat, and I figure since his mouse has passed on finally, and most of my rats are either really old or not very friendly, then I could get another feeder baby and make it the sweetest thing in the world for him. Steven was one out of 30+++ baby rats for sale. Out of all of them, he came right up to me, sniffed my fingers.. and even grabbed one and began licking it. He stayed in my coat pocket for three days, as good as can be. This little boy is definitely a keeper, and very endearing... I know my brother will love him to bits. |
