I went to a halloween party for the Ark, which was a few hours drive from where I lived at the time. I promised Kim that I would help transport some of the adopted out rats to their new homes on my way back. Well... while I was there, I kept telling myself NOT to look at the rats, since I am in love with PEW and agouti.. and they had tons of PEWs from a recent rescue takein. Too late, as I looked in to see these two girls by themselves. I began playing with Marlie, which was absolutely adorable, and she LOVED bouncing about and attacking my hand, only to run back and tackle it again! Love at first site... unfortunately I kept telling myself I could NOT take in more rats!!!
Well, apparently she was taken, but I kept talking to Kim... and eventually I wound up with both sisters! They were spayed in case either were pregnant (luckily neither were), and had to be put on antibiotics for the abscesses they developed at the surgery spot.
?Back story on the O'Bobs:
The rats were seized from an abuse case, and the man was prosecuted for failure to provide food or water. All were PEW. The shelter had to shut down, so Kim's Ark took the rats in.
Fortunately all the other O'Bobs were adopted out and living well!
