Sickening
"Say it proud and say it loud:
BEAST WARS SUX!"

          When
Raksha's site was brought to my attention, I was shocked. Not only was a I shocked, I was sickened.

From the time of Beast Wars' birth, people have been merciless. Cries of "Primal is a hippie!" and "Trukk not munky!" have run rampant since BW's birth, and many bat not an eye. But ther eis one statement that I have heard uttered that is the biggest load of garbage I've ever heard: "BW Megatron could never hold a candle to the original."

I joined the Dragon not Bedpan club because of my utter distaste to such trash. BW Megatron was a simple man. He had ambitions; he had power and connections to back said ambition up.  He took his connections and pulled together a crew. It wasn't the best array of Predacons by any means, but Megs didn't really have that kind of time, did he? For the sake of time, we'll skip to a very significant moment in Megatron's story:  He's the real Megatron. I doubt that those whom dismissed the series so very quickly ever knew this, but The Covenant of Primus PROPHESIED the name of Megatron... and the prophecy was of our fair BW Megatron.

G1 Megs no doubt took his name from the COP, thinking that the prophecy would prove true for he. BW Megatron did the same thing, but this Megatron proved true. In essence, this emans that G1 Megatron actually took HIS name to honor BW megatron, the FIRST Megatron in the timestream.
BW put more thought into his plans. He didn't have an edge in numbers, so he used what G1 should've excercised more: His strategic mind. Now if G1 Megs would've used strategy as much as he did his big Fusion Cannon and equally big mouth, he might've won his war.

Now I want it to be known that I am not against G1. I'm against the closed-minded nostaligia freaks that won't accept Beast Wars for the simple reason that it came about twelve years after Generation 1. And the thoguht that anyone would be "proud" that they hate something is utterly idiotic. You wanna hate BW for some good, decent reasons, fine. But going around yelling it to the entire world without provocation or a good reason is stupid.
In the words of... well, I forgot who said it, (it was a comic book writer, I know...) but the quote was "People have told us it's a stupid idea. Well, they can go to hell."
