All transformer fans are victims to nostalgia. Let�s face it: nostalgia feels good. Hell yesterday, I was cleaning behind my bed and I found some scribbles I had drawn on the wall as a child. Nostalgia kicked in in about 2 seconds.
However, transformer fans are especially vulnerable to nostalgia because on these boards, we are constantly looking back on our wall scribbles and because of it, we re-live our child hood memories of sitting in front of the TV watching our first transformer series.
This is where transformer fans diverge. On the one hand is intelligence. These transformer fans acknowledge that they are experiencing nostalgia. As such, when they are taking part in a reasonable debate, they do everything that they can in order to filter it out and rely on logic to make their points.
On the other side, are transfundies. Unlike the intelligent transformer fans, transfundies don�t try to squash their nostalgia when talking about the series. Not only do they begin to relive their child hood, but the reasoning skills they posessed as a child actually take control. They become their child hood.
Let�s examine an actual argument I heard from a transfundie.:
Transfundie: Why don�t I like Beast Wars? Because it�s not G1
Now lets compare this to an argument a child would make.
Child: Why don�t I like your sandcastle? Because it�s not MY sandcastle.
The similarities are astounding no? It�s sad that grown men and women can act with infantile intillects.
Indeed, it can be found that 99% of all the transfundie arguments as for why Beast Wars suck boil down to more examples of sand castles. Let�s examine some of their argumemts
Beast Wars suxxors because:
�They transform into animals
Because it�s transformers, transfundiess automatically assume that they have to transform into vehicles because it�s transformers. It�s circular logic pure and simple. �Because they transform into animals, they�re not real transformers and they suck. It�s not what I want so it�s BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD!� It�d be amusing if they didn�t actually mean it. People are certainly entitled to a preference of vehicle or animal mode, but it by no means entitles them to judge an entire series because of that one point alone! I myself prefer animal modes, but this by no stretch of the imagination means that I�m going to go around screaming �Armada Sucks� because it�s not my first choice.
�Optimus Prime is a monkey
This argument has been shot down literally thousands of times on the net. Yet the transfundies keep banging out this stock response. Obviously they�ve not even watched any episode of the show because in ANY episode it becomes obvious to even the most dim-witted of idiots that Optimus Primal is not Optimus Prime.
As I take it, their reasoning goes something like this: �If it�s transformers, they HAVE to turn into machines and the autobots HAVE to be lead by MY Optimus Prime who turns into a TRUCK�. They watch the show only long enough to find out that the leader of the good guys transforms into a Gorilla. Using their pre-determined assumption that it MUST be Optimus Prime, they immediately say it sucks. �If it�s not exactly what I want then it�s horrible�. When they finally find out that it�s not Optimus Prime, but rather a new leader, they then switch their position and say that �it sucks because Optimus Prime isn�t in it�
It�s all one big sand castle. �If it�s not mine then it�s bad.�

�Terrorsaur and Waspinator aren�t copies of Skywarp and Thundercracker. Therefore they suck
�Tarantulas isn�t a cross between MixMaster and Soundwave. Therefore he sucks
"Your characters aren't my characters so they suck!"
So concludes my rant on why Beast Wars has been villified by transfundies. Use the knowledge well.
