| The Key to Vector Sigma | ||||
| There seems to be an omnipresent feeling around the transfandom that G1 Megatrons actions during the Key to Vector Sigma 2-parter were tactically sound and proof of his genious. However, upon closer examination, we can see that this is far from the truth. Key to Vector Sigma: Ok, youre Megatron. Youre pissed because the autobots control the roads. Practical Solutions: -Blow up the roads that you know the autobots take, thereby limiting their transportation, allowing you the extra minutes to raid some Nuclear Power plants and gain and advantage in energy. - Blow up the the roads AS the autobots are on top of said roads. Then send in your armies and attack full boar against the stunned autobot forces. No wait, better yet, have all forces concentrate fire on Prime and rid him of yourself as soon as possible Of course he really shouldnt be mad in the first place. After all, he controls the skies. He can rain death from above with relative impunity. Of course he doesnt recognize this though and goes through a grandiose plan for revenge Ok, So in one night, youve stollen some cars to turn into your anti-autobots (Stunticons). Youve armed them with impenetrable force fields and anti-gravity units. And now, youve had Vector Sigma grant them sentience. Bitchin. Practical followups -arm ALL your decepticon forces with these impenetrable force fields and destroy the autobots once and for all instead of only using them on an isolated troop of not-so elite forces of autobot clones. - Steal more cars. Turn those cars into other stunticons and arm them with the same technology. With one raid of a car dealership, you could have an army that would be over twice the size of the autobot forces. And to boot, they would be invulnerable. Victory would be assured. But of course, you turn down these options in favor of a grandiose plan lacking efficiency.... Some have said that Megatrons resources were limited and that this excuses his lack of an invincible army. However, as we see in the series Megatron does not seem to have problems with energy. There is never any mention of how the decepticons are running low on energon. They were succesfully able to maintain a large base, and to keep all of their weapons in working order. Yet never once did Megatron think outside the box. Instead of putting energy into failing attacks, he could have easily used energon to create the necessary force fields. An invincible army of robots is a much more tactically sound choice than a ranged army with weak weapons vulnerable to enemy fire. All right, so now you have the Stunticons which you can use to despoil the name of the Autobots and the key of vector sigma Do you attack major cities with your invincible army and turn the capitals of the world into heaps of metallized organic goodness? No...you launch an attack for super fuel.... Fine. Go with it. Could always use more resources. So now, you have your LIMITED number of Constructions laying waste.... And you are here, with the key of vector sigma, with the full knowledge of how to use it and what it does. Do you turn Washington D.C. into a piece of metal and strangle the nation that is giving the autobots most of its support? No. You walk across the strategically void wilderness turning trees into metal..... List of Advantages -Small amount of invincible forces. - key to vector sigma List of Advantages not used -Incredibly large amount of INVINCIBLE forces at YOUR command. - The destruction of the Autobots most powerful human ally. - The destruction of the autobots while theyre on the roads - The destruction of Prime Pathetic. |
