We of the Dragon not Bedpan club have been accused of being intolerant and hateful of other people�s point of view. This could not be farther from the truth. We don't hate it that people are different. I like G1 and BW. Some like one and not the other. Fine by me. But what I *do* hate is when people whine about being prejudiced against hating BW with no good reason. Blind hatred against BW and loyalty to G1 is just one-sided and worthless. Is it considered celebrating diversity when members of the KKK ask that people respect their opinions that the white race is superior? I sure hope not. Would speaking against the Klan's beliefs be wrong because we would be discriminating against their discrimination? God, I sure hope not. Similarly, is it okay for G1 fans to hate BW without reason (or even giving it a chance), but NOT okay to say their opinions are skewed? Is it wrong for us to speak against their beliefs, because we're discriminating against their discrimination? Dude, if you want people to listen to you, DON'T speak out of both sides of your mouth. If you're gonna be unjustly and loudly hateful of BW and yet ask that we BW fans shut up because our thoughts are discriminatory against yours, then I would request that all G1-loyalists shut up. Because, quite frankly, almost all BW fans love G1. Any complaints we have with it are GOOD ones. Why is it that so many G1 fans HATE BW, then? They have no real reason, other than the fact that they can't escape 80's nostalgia, and refuse to let anyone else think anything afterwards could have been any good. |
