July is approaching & as usual, we will be providing color at the 22st Annual Utah Midsummer Renaissance Faire. This will be held July 7-10, 2004. The stage will be built on July 6, 2004, and, again, our help will be required. So, if you aren't busy that day, even if you have a couple of hours, show up at City Park & let us put you to work. We will set
up "house", and help anyone else who needs it on Tuesday, July 8. Show up at the usual Dragon Spyre encampment area & we'll give you something to do.
The rules for attending the Faire as a member of the Barony are the same as
always. You must be in Renaissance garb. No fantasy, no "attempts" &
no mundane clothing, at all. You will not be allowed in the encampment
area unless you are properly garbed. Please make an attempt to be "in persona"
at all times. This means that you should speak with an accent if you're
able, make an attempt to use period language, be polite & be helpful.
If your persona wouldn't have worn it, said it or done it, then you shouldn't
either. These four days can be a wonderful experience for you, if you let
go & immerse yourself fully in it.
Need garb? Well, you have a couple (or 3) choices. You can sew some (if you
don't know how to sew, the Garber's Guild will be happy to teach you to),
you can buy some or you can pay (or beg) someone else to make it for you.
I am in the process of compiling a list of links to help you out, so look
for it in the very near future.
