Prayer and Magick
This is the more simple version of what I original wrote and gave to a friend.
Prayer and Magick. Two different things, so people say. Think for a moment. What do they have in common at all? Can you think of what they do? I didn't think they did at first. Not until I read a book by Scott Cunningham.
In both Prayer and Magick, there is a need, a reason why you are casting the spell or praying. Then there is the emotion. Usually when you have a need there is emotion to back up that need. Then you have to have knowledge, either how to pray or to cast the spell. Prayer seems to be the underlying basic for magick. The reason why is because prayer is less complex than magick. In magick, for wiccans, you cast spells invovling items like herbs or stones, or even the candles. But for some, they just direct their will. I don't need herbs or candles or some Divine being to help me (well most of the time) I do magick by myself, by willing. But the basics is there in prayer and in magick for directing energy, your will to acomplish things.
