| October 7, 1777- Genaral Burgoyne wanted to press Albany but the American army blocked their way to Bemis Heights. The british tried twice to break through their defenses but failed. Then the brithish withdrew to Saratoga and were surrounded by american troops. The British gave in. | |||||||||
