Note to Prospective Members: If you are seeking membership within a coven structure and you find yourself drawn to this group based on name or referral, there are a couple of things you should know. Though we are not an exclusive (exclusionary) group, we are selective. We do not advertise for new members because we are never actively seeking new members. We understand and work within the firmly-held belief that those who are looking for us will find us - through referral, familiarity with one or more of our members, attendance at a public ritual, etc. If you are seeking an open fellowship of diverse Pagans for discussion and celebration, visit our links section and check out either Pathworks or CUUPs - two local groups whose purposes are more compatible with your needs. Dragon's Eye Coven is part of a more formal Tradition than many of the other public groups in the Indianapolis area. We choose to be visible for a number of reasons, but we are more closely allied in our aims to some of the more closed "old school" groups. By that I mean that we are a mystery school - initiatory and more secretive in nature than a good deal of contemporary Wiccan groups. (Please note that we are not, in any manner or fashion, a Wiccan group. No application of that term fits what we do, and though we don't denigrate groups for whom that term applies, we also do not claim in for ourselves.) We intentionally raise energy and practice magic. We openly approach the Gods, Goddesses and Dragons to work with them. We are very structured in the teaching of basic Craft skills. And we are more hierarchical than many individuals desire. We are not trying to discourage those to whom we legitimately appeal, but we understand that you must have a basic understanding of who we are before you can know whether or not you are truly drawn to a group like ours.
