An angel with new wings
In a place a world away
Can once again begin to sing
God took him in his arms today
He blessed his soul with loving care
And took away his pain
His life story all would share
His memory on their hearts a stain
So young a heart destroyed

Another's mind deployed
The result a tragedy rotten
The tragic hero that's hard to find
A martyr with great courage
God's lamb in rare design
Never to be discouraged
Our love for him forever strong
His image will never fade

This poem was written in the memory of Matthew Shepard.The college student who was beaten to death last year due to the simple fact of his sexual preference.He was tied to a fence and beaten into a coma by a pistal.He later died in a near by hospital.His heart and body was so badly beaten it just gave up. The last words he said was i love you. Is this what we as humans are coming to.Killing the innocent?A great writer once said " Man is enhumane to man."
