| On the Wings of a Dove | ||||||||||||
| On the wings of a dove, the message was carried; White wings spread, over nothing it tarried. A branch in its mouth, and a message of land - It won't be long now 'til the sight of sand. This was the start of the world today, But before all of mankind's tussle and fray, Before disagreements and arguments and such, Before everyone had had too much Of each other, themselves, of family and friends. Everyone searching for means to their ends; Nobody caring what goes on in the world, Just in their home, in their little pearl. At some point this changed, for the worse I might add, And the nature of humans was viewed to be bad. Killing sprees began, and wars soon to follow; In only self pity men started to wallow. Many centuries to come, and all stayed the same, Over lifetimes and cultures, through fortune and fame. The killing still rage on down through history - The torture, the agony, the murder story. Now is the present, the future has come, And nothing has changed, the heart is still numb, Except for a few who reality see, Who can tell the truth in a desperate plea. So many deaths, in so many ways, Yet none of them justified, somebody says. But nobody listens to that one single voice; They turn their heads, they have made their choice. On the wings of a dove, the message was carried; White wings spread, over nothing it tarried. A branch in its mouth, and a message of peace - Shot down too early, and with too much ease. |
