To Spring
Come, Spring, and announce your arrival to the world with golden trumpets.
Come in the wake of a playful child, newly born, like you.
Come on that same babe's laughter, breathing the sweet perfume of budding roses.
Let us run behind you with our bare feet fleeting over the soft, dewey grass,
   green now because of you.
We applaud your arrival.

Come, for we are weary of winter.
We are weary of cold nights in a broken house with no warmth for lack of you.
We want to be rid of the dried leaves beneath our feet, lifeless symbols of
   decay.
Come and melt away the snow that freezes our love.
We want to hear your heart beat giving new hope to new life.
