Role Playing

After watching players for a while. It looks like I might need to clear some things up about what is expected as far as the role playing factors a little better. In order to keep this a RP shard. After all. there is more to RP'ing the just the wording of things

1) Keeping out of char talks to a min. If possable use icq or other programs for out of char
    talks. After all thats what they were made for. This is not an animated chat room. And we
    plan to try and keep it that way.

2) When you have to talk out of char (ooc) use (( )) around what you are saying.

3) We encurage players helping out players. But before you do, put yourself in your chars place
    Would you, as a blacksmith, mine all day, sweet over a hot forge hammering out armor and
     weapons for days. And then just hand it over to the first stranger you meet, for free? Or to
     just hand over that magical sword that you risked your life fighting a dragon for. Just cause
     it's better then what they have? No, so don't do it

4) Remember, and this is a hard one, just because you are friends with a player. Or know them
    from somewhere else. Does not mean your char knows their char. Nor does it mean that
    they know you. Play it acordingly. Now this don't mean you can't be friendly to them, if your that way to everyone you meet. Just don't act like you have know them for years.

As there are rewards for good role playing. There will be actions taken for those that over do non-role playing. The actions will be left upto the staff at that point and time. Ranging from a warning, jail, loss of stats / skills (temp or perma loss), Fines, loss of items (temp or perma loss), ect, ect. I know I sound like an ass here. But we are trying to keep this a friendly, family shard. Where everyone can come and have fun. And we are trying to keep this from tuening into an osi shard where everywhere you go, all you see is people talking about what they did the night before with there boyfriend / girlfriend. Or what all happened at work.

As long as you are really trying to RP. you will have nothing to worry about. If we see you are having peoblems we will even ask you if you need help. If a member of the staff comes up to you and starts talking out of char, it's more then ok for you to do the same while talking to them. But just make sure you get back into char when you are done talking to them.
