Andrea walked out of the bedroom where Darien was sleeping soundly. She crept quietly to the bathroom to freshen up a bit before heading downstairs. She closed the door behind her and began to brush her teeth. A few minutes later she finished and began to fix her self up in the mirror. She straightened her half buttoned shirt and her panties. She then opened the door and silently headed down the soft carpeted stairwell. As she got down to the end of the stairs, she was in full view of an old friend that she has known since childhood. An old cherry wood piano stood over in the corner of the room. Andrea walked over to it, softly treading through the thick fibers of the carpet. Quickly she made it over to her old friend in wait. She moved her fingers along it's shiny, dark, wooden exterior; as she made her way to the accompanying bench. She sat down and lifted up the shield that was set to protect her old friends many soft-white, ivory fingers from harm. She gently placed her pale fingers on its, and gave them a gentle push. A soothing, yet melancholy sound began to flow outward from deep inside Andrea's heart and was fully expressed by the chords of the dark piano. Down to the floor, beneath the movement of fingers, Andrea's bare feet were giving the golden pedals a gentle push. For a long while after the music of her heart flowed throughout the room. From his comfy padded chair, Darien looked at his love playing such a disconsolate melody. He watched as despondent tears slowly rolled down her cheeks as she continued to play. Being fully enthralled, Andrea stopped playing and began to shed many tears over the fingers of her old friend. Darien lifted up his cherished violin off the carpet and put it into place. Gently he moved the bow across the metal strings, releasing the fragilely crestfallen melody upon the room. Soon after, Andrea lifted her head and turned around to see Darien serenading her with such a beautiful sound. She rose to her feet and walked over to him. She sat down on the floor and rested herself against the seat of the chair where his feet were. She closed her eyes and began to let her mind wander with the music. On and on he played until he thought that Andrea had fallen asleep. He put down his violin and moved down to the floor with her, he moved her beautiful long platinum blonde hair from in front of her face and gave her a gentle kiss and softly pulled her close to him. He looked over at her and saw that her eyes were wide open, and looking much dryer. Darien: Oh, Andrea, you're awake? Andrea: Yeah. Darien: Why were you crying while playing on the piano? Andrea: I don't know? I love that song, but every time I play it, it just... Dareas: Does it have some special meaning to you? Andrea: It was the last song my father taught me before he left us. He left me and my mother all on our own. Darien: Oh Andrea, you never told me about this. You said that he was dead. Andrea He is dead, he went off to war and got killed. Long ago... a long time ago. Darien: Andrea, I'm sorry. Andrea: Don't be, thanks to your beautiful serenade, I feel a lot better. You're so perfect, you always what to do at exactly the right time. Darien: I'm just happy that you're happy. Nothing is too much for my Calypso.
