| Music is truly a universal language and can easily set the mood or atmosphere for any setting. In the 1990s, there was a rebirth of interest in Celtic Music (part of the New Age genre). Traditional Irish and Scot music came back to the forefront of the popular music scene and continues to flourish today. Below listed are some of our favorite artists. |

| Enya Born Eithne Ni Bhraonain, otherwise known as Enya, in Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland, this classically trained pianist has done more for the rebirth of interest in Celtic music than any other artist. Enya is the kid-sister in the musical family that became the Irish band, Clannad, joining in 1979. Three years later, she left the band to pursue her own interest. In 1987, she combined with famed director Ridley Scott on a BBC documentary on the Celts. At first, her music was not a "hit", but her work soon began to grow in popularity. Enya performs her songs in English, Gaelic and Latin. Her soft, lush and layered vocals have become the template for her later albums which have sold millions worldwide. Albums: 1. The Celts ~ 1987 (re-issued ~ 1992) 2. Watermark ~ 1988 3. Shepherd Moons ~ 1991 4. The Memory of Trees ~ 1995 5. Paint the Sky: The Best of Enya ~ 1997 6. A Day without Rain ~ 2000 |

| Clannad Clannad was one of the first to bridge the gap between traditional Celtic music and pop. Taking the name of their band from the Gaelic word for family, Clannad was formed in 1970 when the Brennan family - Maire, Ciaran, and Pol began to play at their father Leo's tavern with their uncles - Padraig and Noel Duggan. They started playing at Folk Festivals in their native Ireland before making their first record in 1973. Clannad performed the song "Harry's Game" which became part of the Harrison Ford film "Patriot Games". The band has won numerous awards in both their native land and in Europe. Clannad performed a "duet" of sorts with U2's Bono on the above 'Anam' album. Albums: 1. Clannad ~ 1973 2. Clannad 2 ~ 1974 3. Dulaman ~ 1976 4. In Concert ~ 1978 5. Fuaim ~ 1982 6. Legend ~ 1984 7.
