| This is Sapphire Sophia Maria Azevedo, better known as Sophie. She is the first dog that I ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with, and for eleven wonderful years (so far) she has been the center of my world. (August, 2003) |
| Sophie was born on January 11, 1992 at Wallingford Animal Control. Her mother was a medium sized collie mix with two different colored eyes, her father was. . . something. We think he was a dog, but we are not entirely certain. Sometimes I think he may have had some relation to furniture. This is Sophie the first night she was in my house, February 13, 1992. Yes, she was only 4 weeks old. Back then puppies were separated from their mothers that early. Things have changed now, since ACO Kathy Lindemann took over the shelter. |

| This is Sophie in the back yard at 6 months old. (July, 1992) At this point we figured she was a Shepherd/Sheltie mix, maybe with some husky thrown in. |
