A Few of Our Friends
The three dogs on this page all live with my friend Linda.
|
Meet Gino, the Reining King of Linda's house. She adopted him several years ago from New Haven Animal Shelter as a young puppy. He has lived in Costa Rica with Linda and even learned how to surf! Of all of Linda's dogs I think Gino is my favorite. He is so laid back most of the time and just cool with chillin'. Don't get me wrong, he is an active boy, when there are squirrels invading the yard ;-)!

This Linda's first failed foster (or maybe true success?), Clayton as she first met him. (June of 1999) I took this picture when he was 9 months old, about a week and a half after he was impounded at Wallingford Animal Control. Linda was my volunteer at the time on the weekends. She would make sure every dog got walked or got to play in the yard while helping me with the public and the cleaning. Clay was at the shelter for about two or three months when she finally decided to have him neutered and to foster him (August of 1999). She truly saved his life! |

This is Clayton Summer 2002. He is playing with two of the three Sato pups (From Save a Sato) that Linda fostered. He has blossomed into such a wonderful dog since his days at the pound. Linda has done so much work with him. She has taken him through both beginner and intermediate obedience. He even has been certified Temperment Tested! She took him from a dog begining to go kennel crazy, to a wonderful, loving 67lb lap dog! I even hear that he has become an expert roller blade companion!

| And this is Savannah. (October 2001). Savannah is the product of impulse purchase/adoptions. Throughout her life she has been dumped in three shelters and was finaly abandoned at CT Humane Society in New London, where she was on death row. As Linda has contacts in Dalmatian rescue, she found out about Savannah. She decided to go evaluate her, and possibly take her in as a foster. Once she met Savannah, and got past her 'show' in the kennels, she discovered what a wonderfully sweet Velcro dog was inside the rough exterior of this Dalmatian. Linda was in love! It soon became clear that Savannah was here to stay. She has quietly slipped into Gino's crown (don't let him know!) and into Linda's heart. Personaly I think Savannah was just waiting in that shelter for Linda to come get her, the are so wonderful together!
