Then I was there.  Again.  It didn't take long before I shed the =
coat.  "Remind me to take that back," I said aloud to her.  "By the way, =
what's your name?"

     Mysti.

"Wow!  Cool name!"  I clicked on the flashlight and shined it =
around the cave.  I noticed it had no exit.  Then I saw Mysti curled =
against the wall.  She was beautiful!  There was no other way to =
describe her.  She was shiny silver with beautiful blue eyes.  She =
seemed to glow, although she didn't.  She was very slender with spines =
going from the back of her head to the tip of her tail, where there was =
a little triangle.  And I was positive her claws were as long as my =
hand, from the tip of my middle finger to my wrist.  Her gigantic wings =
were nearly transparent, and were folded neatly against her back.  I =
noticed my mouth was hanging open and quickly shut it.  "Wow," I =
breathed.  Then another thought dawned on me: "How do you eat?" I asked. =

A simple concept that you must learn how to do.  It is called =
transportation.

"How in the world could I do that?  It may be easy for you, but =
somehow I know I can't do it.  No one has ever been able to do that in =
all of history!"

Ah.  You have forgotten that you have the help of a dragon.  You =
are right- no humans can transport themselves.  With the help of a =
dragon, it is easy. =20

"Really?  You could help me learn how to transport?  Wow, do I have =
luck or what?  I belong to this really poor family, one night I'm down =
in the dumps, the next I'm talking to a dragon!  Do you realize how =
funny that sounds?"  There was a pause.

You had better go now.  We have been talking for a while, and you =
said you didn't want to be obvious about being gone.  I will transport =
you again, but you eventually need to learn.  Do not forget your coat.

"Oh, yeah!  I forgot!"  Then in the blink of an eye, I was back in =
my front yard again.  A second after I was back, Faith came running out. =
"Mom sent me to get you," she said.  "Hey, why are you sweating?  It's =
cold out here."

     "Oh! Umm.well, I was running around.  I haven't been out playing =
for a while."  It wasn't hard to tell that she didn't believe me.

     "Let's go in," she said.

It was as cold of a night as it was (was it only last night?) last =
night.  But somehow I didn't notice it as much.  My thoughts were =
centered on Mysti.  I still couldn't believe my luck!  I was best =
friends with the last dragon on Earth!  It was so hard to accept the =
fact as true.  After basically repeating that thought over and over, I =
finally got tired enough to fall asleep.

The next morning, Mom wanted me to go to the store again.  I used =
that request to my advantage.  I asked Mom if I could go to Meagan's =
house first and stop at the store on my way home.  Then I could see =
Mysti, while pretending to be at Meagan's house.  Just to be sure, I =
asked Mom what time I had to be home, to prevent any phone calls to =
Meagan's.  "Thanks Mom!" I yelled as I skipped out the door.  Ha!  She =
had no idea who I was really going to see!  I skipped down the walk, =
going in the direction of Meagan's.  I darted into an alleyway along the =
way and hid behind a trash can, because some of the meanest boys from =
school were walking down the street.  So I decided to contact Mysti.  I =
took a deep breath and thought very clearly: Could I come see you now?  =
I'm in an alleyway, hidden behind a trash can.  That's a safe spot.

Alright she replied.  I will count down for you, alright?  Ready? =
5.4.3.2.1.

Then I was back in the now familiar cavern with the magnificent =
Mysti in it.  "Hi!" I said, striding towards her.  For the first time, I =
got close enough to touch her.  I reached out a hand to stroke her, and =
her scales were surprisingly soft.  The shimmering scales felt like, =
well, almost like ice, but not so cold.  Warm, actually.  They felt like =
the finest cotton that I'd ever felt.  I bet everything I owned that her =
scales were the softest substance in the world!  "Is it O.K. if I lean =
against you?" I asked, although if I hadn't just woken up about an hour =
ago, I probably wouldn't have been able to stay awake long, laying =
against her cushiony hide. =20

Sure.  I do not really care.  But do you not want to learn how to =
transport?

"Of course I do! When can we start?  I can't wait until I can =
transport!  Wait until all the kids at school hear that!  Ha!  Everyone =
will want to see me do it.  Oh, I can NOT wait!"

That will not be possible.  You will need to start with small =
objects such as pebbles before you can even think of transporting =
yourself.  And it will be about a week before you may move on to larger =
objects such as books and shoes.  It will take great time and patience.  =

"It will?  Sorry, I didn't know that.  Can we start today though?"  =
