| "The Soldier of Justice" Chang Wufei is on a never-ending quest for justice. He destroys all who stand in his way ruthlessly and without fear. With no family and no friends, he fights as a renegade to bring peace to Earth and the colonies -- and to crush his enemies, the enemies of peace. |
| Relationships: Wufei is perhaps the most solitary of all the GW characters. His romantic pairing is traditionally Sally Po. He is usually not paired in Yaoi fics, but remains solitary, or excluded altogether. He is closest with Heero and Trowa out of the other G-boys, probably because they understand him as a soldier. He teams up with both of the them in Gundam Wing and in Endless Waltz. For the most part, though, he is on his own. In fact, the closest relationship Wufei has might be the one he has with his Gundam. He calls it Nataku, after his dead wife (see below), and believes that it has a living soul. Whenever he feels he has done something wrong or cowardly, he believes he has disappointed Nataku. |
| Background: Wufei came from the Dragon Clan on the L5 colony. He was married to Meiran when they were both 14: he was studying to be a scholar, she training to be a warrior. She believed that she was the reincarnation of Nataku, the legendary warrior, but Wufei didn't believe her. They didn't get along very well, until their colony was attacked, and Meiran/Nataku was fatally wounded in a mobile suit battle. From that day forward, Wufei became a warrior, fighting for the justice Meiran had pursued. He was trained by Master O, and took the Gundam Shenlong (later upgraded to Altron) to Earth in Operation Meteor. |
